Models Who Aren't That Tall

Sarah Ziff is quite short.

When you meet a model, no matter who it is, they are ALWAYS shorter than you would have thought. Unless they're listed as 5'11, which means they're at least 6' tall.



but does it really matter how tall these girls are? (coming from one of those short models )

Julia is about 5'11 and Lily is listed at 5'10 but I believe she is about 5'8.5. See this pic:

She looks to be about 5'8 next to 5'10 Gemma Ward and 5'7 Polina...

I've read that Gemma is 5'9", but are you sure that Polina is 5'7"? I mean, she really looks it, especially at Jil Sander! But it's really extreme to say you're 5'9.5" when you're really 5'7". But that would explain the Lily D. thing, too. And about the Louise P. height thing... this really dosen't look 5'9.5 to me.... http://img.terra.com.br/i/2004/09/13/167775-8865-ga.jpg.

This thread makes me happy. I am truly 5'8" and I thought my height would really hurt me in pursuit of a modeling career. I guess it might not be as bad as I had originally thought!

i'm 5'7" and in NY, with all the models running around, i feel tiny sometimes. I mean it is not uncommon for these women to be easily 5'11"- 6'-1" so I hesitate to think that there are too many models under around 5'8". Next to a girl that is 6'-1" as some of these runway models are, 5'10" is three whole inches shorter and 5'8" is 5 inches shorter. Hence the discrepancies in the backstage pics.

Lately I've been hanging out at a club where all the top models seem to go. They always come in flats and most of them are the same height as me (5.8.5) or very close. They just have very long legs and are gorgeous and slim! The only notable tall model i've seen lately was Jaquetta Wheeler...who must have been over 6ft.

Some time ago I knew exactly how to convert, but I forgot it.. it's a bit complicated cause there are so many inches in a foot blabla. But 5'9" is 1.75, I know that for sure.
