Models Who Aren't That Tall

Does anyone know Ali Micheals (sp) real height? At bcbg max azria s/s 08 she looked extremely short against the other girls and Snejana looked so much taller than her! They were wearing the same shoes too so it couldn't have been that. Everyone was towering over her.

if it was noticeable that you were taller than her, it must have be at least 2 cm difference, just from my experience. I don't think she is taller than 5'8.

I just realized how so many of the big models are shorter. You see so many succesful models that are 5'7" or 5'8" yet the average height for a model is something like 5'10"-5'11".

lately it doesn't seem like they have to be as tall anymore...most seem to be around 5'7-5'8....on average. although agencies have been lying years anyway when it comes to measurements...

She's 16 years old or maybe even 17, you stop growing most of the time at 15 but there's always exceptions.

She just looks shorter because she has shorter limbs (arms and legs) and her legs are super skinny. I think she's about 5'8 1/2 or 5'9 though.

Exactly, I think the 5'7/5'8 models are most interesting facial wise and walk better anyway. Back in the 90's 5'7 was the average requirment for high fashion modeling, now it's like 5'10!! I think a lot of girls who are 5'8, thin, and have long legs/arms look very modelesk if they have the typical model face. Too tall just doesn't look right in my opinion. Except for hanna S. because she can just pull it off. Like a good example, the girls I knew in HS that looked most like models (myself included) were the ones who were like 5'8, they were very thin and had that typical model face or just this one girl had that typical lanking skinny model like body and she was like 5'8 or so, with the long straight naturally blonde hair. I find shorter models more interesting anyway (which is why they get the most editorial work and become most known and then move onto runway =) )

Height is just a number though, I perfer models to look tall (and have long legs/arms/ and a classic model face.) I like tall models too but some of the taller girls are plainer. The "shorter" girls have to be the best because they need to make up for their height and that is what I find interesting.

I've noticed that too... seems like modeling competitions are chock full of girls between 5'5 and 5'9. Sadly, I think that is partly due to the fact that most agents are much more concerned about how their girl's figure is then her height.
