She looks at least 5'9". Sometimes when people meet a celeb (or model) in this case they don't take in consideration posture and shoes. Also some people just underestimate everyone else's height. I'm slightly over 5'8" and no one ever thinks I'm that much. I am the height that I am because I've been measured at a physician but people never realize how tall I am until I tell them. Then they take a second look at me and they're like "Oh wait you're taller than me" or something like that. I think it really depends on attitude and posture. Also Lily can't be 5'8" only. She looks pretty tall. I'd give her 176 cm.

I agree with you but with me it's the oposite. I'm like 5'7 but I've grown since the last time I was measured (I rarely measure or weigh myself) so I'll say I'm 5'8, but everyone who meets me are always like YOU'RE SO TALL AND SKINNY! And they describe me by saying that I'm TALL, thin, and blonde. But I'm not really that tall, I just have very long arms and legs and I'm just one of those people who looks really tall because I'm very thin and my limbs are long. So I'm like alright, hmm, I guess I am "really really tall" or whatever. height is just a number, it's all about the long arms and legs that make you look tall. Some models just have giraff necks and torsos

Lucky you!!! Actually I don't know maybe it's worse that way. It's all about how the body is shaped. I have wide hips and broad shoulders but a narrow rib cage so it makes my body look shorter. For example I couldn't believe that Paris Hilton is only 5'8" . I thought she was like 5'11" for sure. Turns out from the people that met her she's not even 5'7". Weird huh? It's because her torso is so long and she's slender.

I just realized how so many of the big models are shorter. You see so many succesful models that are 5'7" or 5'8" yet the average height for a model is something like 5'10"-5'11".

So true... I think though, its because to be shorter you need to be more exceptional, so there are 'characters' like Sasha and Irina L etc... not just a 5'10"+ "coathanger" model.

And hey, the world's most successful and in demand fashion model, Miss Moss, is 5'6" !

I use the word all the time, but I use in the sense of the modeling word where 5'7 and 5'8 are seen as "short"

what's funny is 5'9" is considered a little bit short in the modeling world. I'm 5'9.5" exactly and i feel like a giant compared to my friends and the general public. but if i were to go backstage at a runway show, i would feel so small. models arn't like..normal people.
