Models Who Aren't That Tall

the less i talk about my height or ask about height standards at an agency or to a designer, the less they seem to talk about it to.
i've also experienced situations at fashion shows where they measure you wrong everywhere -height, hips, etc. one assist. measured everyone from the ankles up for height!


since everyone is ok lying and exagerating and ignoring it, at what point does height really become an issue?

When they dont believe you have what it takes to be a model, often they tell you youre too short, when really that isnt the biggest problem at all.

They often use both, especially at walk ins. Its better than saying, "we dont believe youll ever have a career".......But the whole "too short" deal only works around when youre between 5'7, 5'9, when youre 5'10 or 5'11, they cant really use that excuse...

Twiggy who is 5'4'' said she was about the same height as Kate Moss who is listed as 5'8''.

then what excuse do they use?

I am honestly startled that they would be so quick to judge your potential, and even more so your longevitiy, when historically so many models have made it big after being rejected by everyone (Tyra, Janice to just name a few). It doesn't make sense for them to be doing that.

The "commercial excuse" is just stupid since so many big name agencies are involved in commercial work along side couture.
If you aren't in one of the major markets like NYC, it seems every agency in between is commercial-based.

Luca is 5'8 on the IMG site, which obviously means that she is 5'6.5

So far, here are some of the ones that we have established...

can't forget michelle buswell... i saw her in real life, i was sitting in a chair and she was towering over me, she looked taller than 6'0, but she was in heels, soooo :-/

^ Very true, I forgot. Many people say that Michelle is a giantess, and that she is totally stunning. I believe she told Vouge that she is 6'2. Audrey Marnay told Vouge, in the same editorial, that she is 5'6.

Luca is obviously taller than Mona,i.e. she must be at least 5'7,she looks even 5'7.5-ish to me!that's still pretty short though

mhmm she walked right past me and my friends in bryant park... not tall at all, maybe above average but i wouldn't categorize her as tall. i think she was in flats. she was a bit taller than me, i'm 5'6 and i was wearing sneakers that make me look a little taller than i actually am... you know the kind

I was at one of Adriana Lima's forum and one of the member there is trying to make an official Adriana website so that person got to speak w. Adriana's agent(or something like that) and they said her real height is around 5'7-5'8

Somebody said here that Natalia V is 5'7. Don't think so coz i saw Russian Glamour awards ceremony on TV and she looked REALLY tall compare to everyone that was on stage with here. I think she looked more like 178 cm or even taller.

From that pic with Caroline Trentini, I'd definitely say Doutzen is shorter than 5'10 ... she's wearing 3 inch heels and is still shorter than Caroline!!

So even if Caroline is 6'0 (which I doubt), if Doutzen is 5'10 she, theoretically, should be taller than Caroline in that pic ...

I dunno, the whole thing is so sketchy, but I'd say Doutzen is 5'8-5'9 ish...
