Surely, if you starve yourself, you'll stop growing, but, most of the time, girls don't even become familiar with the idea of dieting before their teen years, when most of the growing had already been done. And, as to receiving all the essential nutrients, although this is very important for the general health and well-being, I think it's effect on growing is slightly overated. In other words, to stop yourself growing, you need to really starve yourself, not just luck some nutrients.
