Models Who Aren't That Tall

How tall is Felicity Gilbert? 5'6 or 5'7? I am leaning more towards 5'6 at the moment.

I actually think closer to 5'5/5'6. :innocent: She is def. not 5'7 though, because Storm used to list her at 5'6 and then they changed it. :flower:

One thing I would disagree with is the part about dieting. Surely, if you starve yourself, you'll stop growing, but, most of the time, girls don't even become familiar with the idea of dieting before their teen years, when most of the growing had already been done. And, as to receiving all the essential nutrients, although this is very important for the general health and well-being, I think it's effect on growing is slightly overated. In other words, to stop yourself growing, you need to really starve yourself, not just luck some nutrients.

Just my two cents...;)

You'd actually be surprised how many 10-12 year olds are already trying to lose weight.. sad but true. But we basically agree.. there is nothing you can do to make yourself grow either.. which is why it's frustrating to read about people on here wanting to buy special nutrients or stretching (laughable!!) to grow a couple of inches!! :flower:

true and she looks reeeallly short on the runway especially her legs. def. shorter then Mona J.

Believe it or not...but excersise does work for growing. Not a signifigant amount of growing, maybe an inch or so but I asked the doctor what are things that you can do to grow taller and he said that although it doesn't do much but yoga, swimming, and cycling can help, but only if your still young.

10 year-old girls going on diet... That's frustrating... The things that are happening in your, Western, society now, the obsession with the weight issue and all that results from it, just don't sound real...

As to the growing... Well, do you know that it is believed that 90% of population do not reach their genetic height ? Basing on that, I think something can be done to grow taller. You don't cheat the genetics, you just help yourself make it to where you're supposed to be.

I believe yoga, pilates and other types of gymnastics that are based on stretching and developing the joints, can help grow. Swimming is also believed to be able to help, but, I think it only does it if you're really young...
I don't have a personal experience with any of that, though...

It has been proven that 10% of you height (and development) is based on nutrition. So milk DOES a body good after all.

Unless that by "nutrition" you mean eating properly in general, during childhood (aka not starving), I find it very difficult to believe it really makes 10% of your whole height. Sounds a little too much, to me... And, even if so, nutrition doesn't really matter anymore, anyway, once you've passed the puberty...

And, as to milk... Well, if it really was THAT important, I would never make it to 5'7.5, which I am now... Never really liked it too much...

Yes...and Supreme has the nerve to list her at 5'8!

I didn't realize there were so many "short" models. :) Maybe my 5'6" isn't so awful afterall. LOL! Kate Moss has to be one of my favorite little models...so glad she made a comeback!

^ She was never really out of the industry, I believe...

I think she meant she's glad to see her come back after all that cocaine business

im planning to do pilates...imm turning 15 on march 27th..and im like 5'6 any chance that pilates can help me gain ast least an extra 2 inches? im dying to be 5'8

mm I do pilates and I haven't seen much of a change. I did see maybe a half an inch in my first year (i started when i was 15) but I doubt you will get 2 inches from strictly pilates. I say go for it anyways because it's good for you even if you don't grow from it. I wouldn't count too much on techniques to grow taller..be happy with your height..your not short. Especially if you are wanting to model, if you are insecure about your height it will show! Plus as much as other people have said they are still growing at 18 and they did this or that and grew 3 inches..it really comes down to genetics. The average age girls stop growing is usually 16..obviously there are exceptions but I believe it's 100% genetics. If you have really tall parents you may still have a chance but I wouldn't get my hopes up at 15.

thasnks luna! yeah i agree, my parents are super short serisoly, i dont even think im suppose to be this tall, i just measure myself i am no 5'6.5!!! =] anways my mom is like 5'2? my dad is only 5'9 ahaha anways yeah i do like my height since i love heels and almost all my heels are 4'' so =]

I did pilates for about a month or so and grew half an inch during that time. I'm not sure if it wasn't just a coincidence, though...

it seems like they have the same heels... maybe inguna is a little behind them but not THAT MUCH .... she looks so much shorter!!!
