It is actually quite interesting how the most successful girls in the industry are almost never the tallest. Mariacarla is no exclusion to that rule.

MCB is leaning, but her legs are straight and if you compare where her hips are, they are considerably lower than the other girls. She has always looked shorter than other girls, but 5'8 seems like an overstatement. Probably more along the lines of 5'9

I guess it all depends what you consider "tall" and "success". Money is obviously the superstars or the unknown Asos type models.
Superstars are pretty tall - Catherine McNeill, Stam, Gisele, Gemma, Doutzen...
I would consider "short" for a model to be under 5'9 and tall to be over 5'10.

Yeah, 5'9'' is more plausible for MariaCarla. She's taller than Guinevere Van Seenus and Guinevere is 5'8'', I think.

As to success, yes, there're some exclusions like Karlie and Gemma, maybe Gisele, but she's more commercial, but I meant girls like Mariacarla, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Natalia V., those who made it real big in fashion. None of them are really tall.

I would say that very tall is for girls taller than 5'11 (180cm). 5'11 is the ideal height for models.
