I wonder how much these things are in the warehouses :
NIKPOLLINA
NIKPOLLINA
I think they are worth it. I mean, if anyone has the price of a classic bag to spend (10K), they should go for a Chanel blazer or coat.hate to say it but chanel jackets can be "investment pieces"
For me a Chanel jacket, coat or little dress in tweed is always a good buy.
Handsewn par DEMNA pour Balenciaga!Balenciaga under Demna is the most tragic thing on earth. This is a $19 polyester sports jersey -- he didn't even give it a lining or a zip pocket or anything (needless to say there is an enormous hideous logo). How low does your self-esteem have to be to buy something so enthusiastically antithetical to the most basic ideas of luxury, quality and taste?

I actually think that when it comes to fashion and quality, overall, the brand is great. Particularly when it comes to knitwear and tweed. But it’s also one of those brands where aesthetic decisions can hurt a perceived quality. And they made unfortunate aesthetic decisions under Virginie.Definitely! And im really not sure when people complain about the current quality of Chanel. It seems to me that the complaints are not proportional to the actual quality being delivered. Maybe people are just complaining now because of the dramatic increase in prices. There will always be a bad made one and the store will probably fix it anyway.
Maybe vintage chanel stores are the ones making it seem like chanel's current quality is inferior so they sell more of their old stuff.
ill never forgive the row for making 'old money' a 'trend' on social mediaBalenciaga by Demna Gvasalia
Chanel
Jil Sander by Luke and Lucy Meier
The Attico
The Row
Thom Browne
All are way overpriced.
This comes to my mind:For the humble price of $2370 (AUD), you too can experience post-college life in this vintage effect sweatshirt.
Mastermind Japan doesn't even charge that much for a sweatshirt.

How to spot an international student within 50ft or less. For the humble price of $2370 (AUD), you too can experience post-college life in this vintage effect sweatshirt.
I would have been ashamed to be an international student who cannot afford it in 2020s!How to spot an international student within 50ft or less.
As any sensible person would!!!I would have been ashamed to be an international student who cannot afford it in 2020s!
I disagree a lot (can we say "disagree a lot" in actual english grammar ? I speak too much frenglish).I actually think that when it comes to fashion and quality, overall, the brand is great. Particularly when it comes to knitwear and tweed. But it’s also one of those brands where aesthetic decisions can hurt a perceived quality. And they made unfortunate aesthetic decisions under Virginie.
I must say that FW2024 is quite great in terms of quality. Even the buttons makes me happy.
I haven’t bought a Chanel RTW piece in quite some times but everytime I had purchased an archive/vintage piece around that time, they have been great in terms of altering them for me.
I think Balenciaga is really the worst brand in the luxury market in terms of how they are handling their production. I think Givenchy comes close but now with the new CD, they will elevate again.
The problem with Balenciaga is that the perception is ruined for ever for me. Demna went too far in terms of commercialism.
But you know that it’s never as good as something that you may want.I disagree a lot (can we say "disagree a lot" in actual english grammar ? I speak too much frenglish).
I know dozens of seamstresses or male tailors in Paris who can do jackets and coats as well as regular Chanel RTW, especially if you order the fabric from Linton
They won't be exclusive fabric like Chanel orders but they will be as good as Chanel does, and fitted to you like a couture piece, for a fraction of the price of a RTW piece.Linton Tweeds - Couture Fantasy Tweeds and Boucle Fabrics

Oh i might be wrong but I mentionned Linton tweeds because they are a subsidiary of Chanel now, so it’s the same process and QC.But you know that it’s never as good as something that you may want.
I often buy fabrics at Generaldiff to have some pieces made by my tailor and years ago they had a tweed that I think was the same as Alber used for Lanvin and it was rather good.
But going for a custom tweed piece really works if you are a tweed geek.
And tweed for me is really one tricky fabric. I have a lot of pieces from various designers but if I didn’t saw those specific pieces in those specific cuts, I wouldn’t have though about buying them.
But I really push for anyone who can afford it, if they really wants it, to go for a custom piece. When you have an idea, the fabric and a good tailor, it’s really worth it. You are supporting a small business too (even if you are limited to your own creativity).
