Most Overpriced Designer?

Balenciaga by Demna Gvasalia
Chanel
Jil Sander by Luke and Lucy Meier
The Attico
The Row
Thom Browne

All are way overpriced.
The Row is great quality at least, which is something i cant say about Jil Sander for example...The Attico is a phenomenon - how can someone spend this much money on this trash.
Zegna and , radically, Versace. when you touch the stuff it speaks for itself ( in my experience anyways)

The Attico is basically a more urban / hypebeast upgraded version of Christopher Decarnin Balmain. After Olivier Rousteing started shifting Balmain design proposition into something more artsy / intellectual a la Loewe, there was basically no high fashion brand that actually delivers overly embellished / over the top clothing without the demodè / cheap feeling a la Zuhair Murad or Elie Saab. The girls were very clever in brand positioning

Would you spend 370 Euro on a Fendi Selleria leather zip wallet with uneven and misaligned hand stitching?
I am actually shocked the price is so low as the hand stitching is so overly advertised and stressed. It would have been 2k had it being sold by Prada (with plastic Saffiano of course)...
Funnily enough, the average customer after reading "hand stitching" will probably think of an italian skilled artisan making the stitching in a Tesla industrialized kind of level factory while in reality this wallet is gonna get handled by some underpaid chinese in Prato.

Is anyone actually buying Alessandro’s Valentino? The prices are ludicrous. $10k for a dress that you could get from retrofete, selkie, Zimmerman, for love and lemons, revolve etc for <$1000. Even DG versions are half price or less

CAD ? AUD ? Because it's 6,900 € on a European page, which is still ludicrous.
Especially as they put the sale at 40% discount at the end of the very same page (but the discounted ones are PPP black collection).

For some reasons, those prices don’t shock me. This is Valentino’s pricing.
It has always been expensive a la Dior.

The shock is maybe because of Alessandro’s designs. They were cheaper at Gucci so there’s no sense of added value when transposed to Valentino.

If I was an (alleged) artisan and worked all my life at a craft only to end up working on « dirty underwear » that is « actually very clean », I'd question every choice in my life leading up to this moment.

How did we get here ?!?
Nope they just ship them to Peru farmers to wear for a month, then are shipped back and washed at 90° (at least I hope).

I vaguely recall long-gone denim brand Earnest Sewn launching or at least announcing/trial-ballooning a line of actually pre-worn-just-for-you jeans called "Butler Worn" (?) that failed immediately, but Google didn't turn anything up in five seconds and I'm too lazy to look further because that was a time before everything was documented on the internet, and I have a hard enough time finding information about clothes just a few seasons old.

Wasn’t that APC?
