Movies That Have Made You Cry

Silly, but I cried last night while watching Penelope- the point where she accepts herself who she is, with her pig nose and all, made me cry. She likes herself despite her physical fault, and it hit close to home. I've got body issues and find it hard to accept myself the way I am.

I don't watch a whole lot of movies and I'm far behind when it comes to popular movies (I still haven't seen Titanic ), but here are a few that made me cry:
The Phantom of the Opera (watching it right now:cry:)
The Green Mile
Life is Beautiful
Cinema Paradiso
Rudy (I'm a football fan and I just couldn't hold it back)
Monsters Inc.
The Fox and the Hound
The Elephant Man
Jakob the Liar
What Dreams May Come
Patch Adams
The Straight Story - I don't think this one has been mentioned yet, but its a movie about the journey of an old, disabled man who rides his John Deere tractor across state(?) to see his dying brother. Its a simple story/movie, but that old man just made me weep.
A Penny Serenade - An old Cary Grant movie that I believe is hugely under-rated. Its a movie where a young, barely-making-ends-meet couple adopts a baby. Very basic story-line but the scene where Grant is in court pleading for the judge not to take the child away will rip your heart out. There's about 5 different points in the movie where I would cry uncontrollably.
Now, Voyager - A Bette Davis movie that I must have seen millions of times but cry every time.
Mr. Skeffington - Another Bette Davis movie with an ending that will break your heart.
It's a Wonderful Life
Brief Encounter - Old 1945 British movie that was banned in the US for moral issues. The narrative throughout the movie is exquisitely written and describes the emotions of confused and forbidden love perfectly. And the last line of the movie

Schindler's List
Saving Private Ryan
AI ....

(Hmm... all Spielberg... trend much?)

Shawshank Redemption (happy tears)
I am Sam
CJ7 (I know its Stephen Chow, but man it was sad.)
Together (Japanese move about 4 kids who have to fend for themselves. Cannes Winner)

I can't evem remember them all.

Mar Adentro, Fluke, Man on Fire, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, American History X, Love Actually, Green Mile, Big Fish..

The most recent movie that made me cry was the end of The Red Shoes. I also cried during a part of Amelie and the end of Jeux D'enfants. I haven't seen Dancer In The Dark, even though I wanted to, because when I watched the little "making of" of it on this show they use to air on E!, I thought it looked too depressing for me to be able to watch it. I sat through Cinema Paradiso in my English class trying not to cry and I'm sure that applies to other movies too. I should mention I don't really like crying in public. I can't really think of every movie I've ever seen that made me cry.

Something's Gotta Give
Little Miss Sunshine
School Of Rock

Basically ever movie ever. I'm a big cry baby when it comes to movies. Fox and the Hound man that's one of the saddest of all. Awww. Aww.

Oh geez, I just caught the last 15 minutes of Meet Joe Black and its enough to turn me into a mass of tears. I just can't stop crying!

Beauty and the Beast... the scene in the rain when the Beast says he had to see Belle "one last time" OH GAWDDD. Note that I didn't cry for this movie until I was in my teens haha
- The end of Sweet November (despite Keanu's questionable acting abilities)
- The Notebook - Need I say more?
- P.S. I Love You - I'd bawl during a scene, and just as I'd start to get over it, another tear-inducing scene comes. P.S. Gerard Butler is the sexiest man ever.
- The Last Samurai - Love Ken Watanabe!!
- Love, Actually - tears of happiness. I love the storylines
- The Pursuit of Happyness

sooo many more. I cry watching commercials for God's sake!

hmm.. the last was ThePaintedVeil.
the song at the end just got me.

Me too!!!!

I remember bawling my eyes out watching The Lion King

the lion king is the WORST. it gets me every time, even though i've seen it alot. in fact, most disney movies are tear jerkers for me. (beauty and the beast, little mermaid, pocahontas)...

recently i cried in the duchess and the dark knight (yes, weird, i know).
