New Year Style Resolutions 2008

-Buy new clothes
( I havent done so in months been way to busy)
-Go back to the tailor ( i miss that guy :( )

*Dress for the seasons, especially spring and summer – I tend to wear a lot of long pants and long sleeve shirts, even with its too warm out.
*Make more thoughtful purchases – not more buying something just because it’s cheap. (French Wardrobe thread)
*Buy more blouses and less t-shirts
*Accessorize more: nicer handbags, Hermes scarves, etc.
*Get a NICE set of luggage
*Don’t wear the same shoes all the time.
*Less black (about 80% of my closet is one black hole)

-Wear heels more; I'm getting over my flats phase completely.
-Wear make up more often.
-Make an effort everyday.
-Be more selective when shopping.
-Avoid too many grey items; for me grey is what black is for others.

More resolutions!
  • Don't be afraid to look a little sexy ... I usually avoid it, because I *never* want to look like a trashy ho. But a bare back or a little leg can be sexy without being distasteful.
  • Save enough money to buy a Chanel 2.55 bag and black Louboutins!
I plan to check this thread at the end of 2008 to see if I met my goals. :D

i dont know if this counts as a "style" resolution but
-loose weight!!
oh and get used to wearing heels

- wear and buy less black
- invest in quality basics
- buy more accessories

only one--STOP BUYING DESIGNER!

that's it...

- Buy more neutral-colored pieces (I LOVE color a little too much)
- I'm echoing what some of you have already said - Make an effort every day!
- Plan my outfits in advance (create my own personal lookbook)
- Pack wisely for my trip to Paris this coming March!

I need to...
-Dress nicer more often - less jeans and tshirts out of sheer laziness
-Plan my purchases better - buy those classic items I so badly need
-Less impulse shopping/buying
-Make some of my own clothing so I always get what I want (within the limit of my skills...)

- Quality over quantity: splurge on quality pieces I absolutely must have; don't buy mediocre/trendy pieces because it's cheap.
- Start a lookbook so I have a clear idea of what is "my style" so that I don't buy pieces that don't fit in with my look/personality.

Make an effort every day.
Do more stuff with my hair including gasp!-going to a salon to cut it instead of DIY.
Get back used to wearing heels, and live in them.

wear dresses
wear black pants/jeans instead of always regular jeans
stop buying shoes I'll never wear
be more creative in my daily outfit choices

and not really style, but related to clothes...
take better care of my wardrobe, stop treating the floor as my closet

- refrain myself from buying clothes I don't need, no matter how tempting the prices might be
- when it comes to basics, invest in quality pieces
- make an effort more often
- get a nice haircut
- wear more black

-Try to wear heels
-Try to let my hair down
-Try not to buy black...or wear black
- Buy more dresses, tops and skirts

I need to

- STOP buying expensive suede shoes (Louboutin pan booties, Dior booties, and Miu Miu pumps all from yesterday come to mind) when I live in a very wet and messy state. Even with scotchguard!

- STOP compromising on fit so I can own a certain piece. Yes, it's nice to collect, but the grandma cuts of Marc by Marc are looking awful on me and instead of wearing it to say I'm wearing it, new brands.

- EXPLORE new brands instead of loyalty to three or four. Trade in True Religion, FINALLY, for Hudson Jeans, which are only 160 (!! SO CHEAP) and fit me all that much better. Same goes for thank god for giving Philip Lim a chance yesterday and finding out although I thought it looked funny on the rack, he makes me look like a woman.

- START to shop away from 'contemporary' and '5F' and move toward the more grown up pieces. But I will never sacrifice J. Lindeberg who I'd like to marry for his silhouette's in women's denim. Less Nanette Lepore, more Bottega Veneta.

- ONLY buy things that I will want to wear in a year. Yeah, being in trend is cool, but having the pieces of classics will allow me to look good year round.

AND HIT THE GYM. :(
