New Year Style Resolutions 2008

  • Clean closet, purge & donate
  • Get items repaired that need it
  • Buy only what I need & shop more from independent designers
  • Find creative ways to organize & display accessories so items that are tucked away are visible & within easy reach
  • Enjoy the beauty of what I already have instead of wanting more

particularly like that last bullet point!

as for me:

- cut down on impulse purchases
- slowly phase out anything that isn't cotton, cashmere, or wool (i'll allow some silk, but often i just find silk high-maintenance and not as breathable)
- since i expanded my shoe collection in 2007, this year i'd like to work on building a great outerwear collection - i'm thinking moncler, jil sander, costume national...
- examine why i wear certain pieces all the time, and certain pieces almost never
- finish off my current "to be altered" pile before buying anything else that might need altering
- buy more colorful scarves and jewelry

  • dont stay on the safe side of skinnies, shirt, jacket, shoes so often.
  • no more impulse buys on dumb crap ill never wear!!!
  • wear more accesories, like scarfs, necklaces, and bracelets.
  • even if im in a hurry dont settle for an outfit i dont like
  • buy pieces i will enjoy for longer
  • shop more!^_^
  • important dont let the dumb, negative opinioned people get me down or care what they think of me - just do my own thing!

take more chances
have fun with fashion
don't give a flip about what people might say
be more comfortable with myself

Add some more colors other than black in my wardrobe...
Never hesitate to buy more shoes :ninja:

buy clothes
wear clothes
grow longer hair
look better in the clothes

change my spending habits: spend more, less often.
frequent secondhand shops for interest.

wear all the stuff in my closet. purge the rest.

simplify.

Find and use a good tailor
Stop buying items *just* because they are on sale
Put more effort into my appearance - even if I'm just running errands - *those* are the days that I run into people.
Practice a more natural/neutral face (makeup wise)
Enhance my femininity

My resolution was to not make any resolutions this year. I'm confident I'll keep it through the year.

Throw out/ donate the worn out stuff... I have a tendency to clutter.

Be pickier when I buy something - e.g. I haven't found the perfect short trench yet, so I won't buy one. Easy as that.

Keep knitting my own stuff and really knit it to fit (more customizing instead of blindly following instructions).

Spend less money on clothes (I already don't shop that much, but I seriously can't afford it, so I have to cut back some more).

I've got a new one no new bags until my 18th birthday (later this year) then I can reward myself with my an LV bag.

-learn to walk in heels
-wear what my instincts tell me rather than the modified versions my head decides
-look good every day and not by wearing the same safe outfit everyday

-Buy less crap, no, buy NO crap
-Embrace my femininity and sexuality within my clothes. Not in an extrovert way, but just stop hiding behind slouchy, shapeless sacks.
-Stick to a colour palette
-Try on things in shops that I would never have considered. I often find I discover that something I thought would be hideous looks great.
-More effort into grooming, ie. nails, maintaining my waxing etc

- buy quality instead of a lot of junk (untill now its going okay, just bought an LV speedy 30)
- try to use my scarves and brooches more to be more individual
- keep my wardrobe organised

Dear to wear red lipstick in the daytime, I am that age where it should be ok to do it.
