The Shiseido cleanser, the mousse one by the Skincare Range is just Fabulous!!! :D
What else do you recommend from Shiseido?

By the way, in another beauty forum i have also heard a similar story about the non cleansing subject, except this time it was for hair...belargh!!!
Even though people rave about this stuff i hate to feel dirty and not having a fresh scent on my body. :P[/QUOTE]

I also hate to feel dirty and I loooove a fresh scent on my body, but I think this
thread is more about not washing your face....Not scrubbing your face and just wiping it softly won´t make you a dirty or smelly person.

In this board we see celebrities with tons of money who can afford the best products and specialists (Cameron Diaz, Britney, etc) ...and they still have serious skin problems...

Maybe some of the ads for skin products that insist in washing your face as it could get dirty as a potato are just...well just ads trying to make you feel bad about yourself, and feel dirty if you don´t scrub your poor complexion as if it was a tile. Product makers just want you to spend money and load your cabinet with useless or even worse damaging stuff....:innocent:

I think the point is more about not messing too much with your face in order to get clearer skin...

If you have luck and genes you can put whatever you like in your face and it´ll look great, but for people with troubled skin (like me), I think less is definitely more.

Because I don't work atm, I made it my mission to go out and buy the Chanel cleanser so I could compare... I'd say they are both very good, practically equal; as far as my skin is concerned at least! The Chanel one seems to be ever so slightly more "filmy" and moisturizing, if you know what I mean? I prefer Shiseido men's cleanser, but Chanel has a more convinient package IMO. They're both good, so you wouldn't go wrong with either...

Perhaps one should let the skin be sometimes, but I don't feel fresh and clean if I don't wash it. So that's out of the question.
To me hygen is very important.

I think its a combination of healthy diet and trying not to clog up your skin with products...

i like washing my face in the morning, love the feeling of plain water on my skin and anyway i dont wear make up so i can get lazy at night if i feel to..
best wash is chanel's moose (dont remember the name) comes in a 'biggish' white tube with, great product. washing with this can get so addictive, you wouldnt want to skip..

i agree that skin gets used to hydrating protection, i always put my cream on right after washing (plain water or chanel mousse) i take a day off facecream almost once a week, i have the illusion that this helps skin reacting better to my daily routine

The cleansing product is actualy called "Gentle cleansing foam".
I also tried and loved the moisturizer with spf10 (Day Essential Moisturizer SPF10), it´s like a lotion but far more moisturizing than heavier creams, and i have skin on the drier side.
For night time use i have the Multi-Energizing cream, i wouldn´t use it if you have an oilier skin as it´s a bit heavy, but it leaves the skin really supple and it smells great!

hth :flower:

Seriously, skin and hair will "self-clean" and regulate themselves if you leave them alone. The only problem is that'll take many weeks, and it'll go through a slightly stinky stage considering hair. Hair in itself is dead tissue, what makes it greasy and unfresh are sebum from your scalp I suppose. If you manage to make it through it, you should be okay.

That being said, I still wash my hair...

I´ve heard that too Tott, about hair, that if you manage to get it unwashed (with shampoo), that it tuns even more beautiful than when it´s shampoo washed.
I´ve heard that if you massage your scalp only with water and then just apply the conditioner it will turn great.
Anyway, people who´ve done it still say it doesn´t smell good... :P

Hmm... It's interesting! I would like to give it a try as my skin is ***t right now!!
But what if I'm wearing sunscreen? It would feel really dirty and sticky i n the afternoon.. I'll probably wash it with water only.
Might try this for a week or two.. hope it won't get worse..
For the hair one.. I don't think so

i agree...even though I'm really serious about cleaning my face etc. It's true I was sick for a month and barely ever touched my face..it was great. Though that may have been due to the fact that I barely went outside:wacko: But I've also done that when I haven't been sick and the good skin has lasted about 2 days.

Sometimes I give my skin I break and don't touch it...because I know it'll do it good. and it does.

Though you can't NEVER wahs your face..thats just crazy:D

I didn't wash my face so well for a couple weeks and my skin was shot to hell. But that may have also been due to stress.

I recently spent some time in the hospital and didn't wash my face for several days. Maybe it's whatever they put into the IV or something, but my skin is looking terrific. Sometimes I feel like we spend too much time on our skin and that leaving it alone is the best way to calm it down. My mum always says that the less you do to yourself, the better. (The only reason that might have some validity is because she's a mother, not a dermatologist or a genius or anything like that.)

same ages ago i was so ill i didnt have a proper wash in over a week, and my hair and skin went great. my hair didnt go greasy at all, just soft and shiney.

^^ how gross do i sound. I was wired up to machines in a hospital bed with a very high fever, so you cant balme me really, its not something id do out of choice

sometimes i leave my face alone for a few days- no makeup, nothing and it looks good... I try not to scrub it too hard though usually.
About the not washing hair I'm going to Mexico for a mission trip saturday and we might not get the time to wash our hair so I've been trying to get the oil down by not washing it. I haven't washed it in about 7 days (usually I'd feel nasty) but it's not oily at all, doesn't smell, and has gone into gorgeous waves/ringlets all over!! I ran into my hairstylist at the mall and she thought it was clean and I had styled it haha usually when I do this I wash it really well and go as long as possible w/o washing but if it starts to look greasy or smelly I wash it... that's it!

sometimes i get extremely lazy usually during winter or summer breaks and i go like 2-3 days without washing up, and my face seems to be the best its ever been. so weird.

as far as not washing your hair, do you guys work out and sweat and still not wash it??

forgot to mention earlier, but i have this friends who is all save the enviroment, very bohoi, enviromantly friendly and green.
But any ways she is that against the over use of plastics and animal testing etc. theta the only thing she will wash in is water, even her hair. She wears very little make up that she does wear is environmentally friendly. b ut you'd exspect her to stink like a smelly old hippys armpit. but she never smells, and her skin is perfect, not one blemish on it, her hair is the thickest and shineyest ive ever seen, its so strong as well.
So it makes you think if these products are doing anything for us ??

Of course it makes you think tiamaria!
But on the other hand, if you get addicted to smelling good you cannot smell bad...the same with clothes...why do we keep buying some new stuff when we have enough to dress ourselves for 5 years?
I try to restraint myself and i don´t even buy as much as anyone i know but even so it is too much. Well, at least i try my best.
