Marks & Spencer Cabs Hit London Streets

spacer._V42753721_.gif
2 March 2006

Five fully-branded Marks & Spencer taxis hit the streets of London today, following the launch earlier this month of its new Womenswear TV advertising campaign featuring Twiggy, Erin O'Connor, Laura Bailey and Noemie Lenoir.
The taxis are decorated in a pink cherry blossom design, inspired by de Gournay, to match that of the vintage Mini which features in the new ad.
Marks & Spencer bid £40,000 for a liveried taxi at the recent Retail Trust London Ball with the donation going to Retail Trust, the national charity for the retail industry. The taxis were generously provided for the auction by Taxi Promotions UK and will be operating in London for the next six months.
Asher Moses, Managing Director, Taxi Promotions UK commented: "Retail Trust is a fantastic cause and we are really pleased to be able to support the charity. The donation was so generous that we have agreed to provide five taxis."
Steven Sharp, Executive Director, Marks & Spencer commented, "It's always great to be able to help charities such as Retail Trust who are committed to looking after all people in retail. Asher couldn't have timed his offer better - the new ad launched last week and now the taxis are out on the road, I'm looking forward to spotting them around town."

Noemie Lenoir is one of our favourite WAGS.
Sure, we had that whole head shaving incident and now we’re dealing with an interesting choice of hair colour, but on the whole, it’s all good.
Noemie has had a career as a successful model and certainly isn’t in need of a man to pay her wages, however, we are concerned that the hair dye has gotten to her brain.
Her hubby, Chelsea’s Claude Makelele, has reportedly cheated on her many times with page 3 model Jamelah Asmar - and was even said to be high tailing it between London and Paris to keep them both happy. Still, Noemie has stayed.
She’s recently been quoted as saying she doesn’t mind if Claude spends lots of money on her: “If he gives Keylan (their son) a bath, that’s better than a diamond ring.”
Obviously a serious case of dimentia is occuring.
That said, they do look good together, cheap *** gifts like time spent with your children nonwithstanding. Quick question: isn’t time with your kids supposed to be normal, not a gift you give your wife?

Poor serial shagger Calum Best must have a very bad sense of direction as he needed to point where he was going.
Or perhaps the one-finger salute was because he didn't want to be pictured partying with old flame Kimberly Stewart in St Tropez.
The pair later hooked up with P Diddy at the Amika party at VIP Rooms club. Diddy danced all night with M&S underwear model Noemie Lenoir, the wife of Chelsea and France footballer Claude Makelele.
"Diddy was really flirting with Noemie," says our spy. "And she was dancing provocatively in front of him. Then he invited her back to a party on his boat and they left with friends." Life as a singleton isn't so bad then, Diddy

Like many others before her -- from Elle MacPherson to Gisele Bündchen -- French supermodel Noémie Lenoir took the leap from modeling to acting after gracing innumerable magazine spreads and European catwalks. Lenoir is of Malagasy descent; her mother hailed from the island of Réunion in the West Indian Ocean -- which accounts for the actress-model's dark-skinned complexion and slightly exotic look. One of her first significant film outings consisted of a small role the Gallic adventure sequel Astérix et Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre (2002). Lenoir achieved recognition among U.S. audiences with the 2007 action comedy Rush Hour 3, thanks in no small part to the film's Parisian setting; in that Jackie Chan/Chris Tucker vehicle, she played Genevieve, the star attraction at a French nightclub.

With her luscious corkscrew curls and perfect complexion, Noemie Lenoir has become the most talked about poster girl of 2006.

But now, following a brutal trip to the barbers, the 27-year-old Marks & Spencer billboard star is barely recognisable.
The French model, who has shaved off all her hair for a role in the movie Rush Hour III, revealed her new look during a break from filming.
Chatting on a mobile phone to her Chelsea footballer boyfriend Claude Makelele, Miss Lenoir looked at ease with her new, no-holds barred 'grade one' crew cut.
Wearing a navy blue and white vest top teamed with a chunky gold necklace, the M & S model chatted to the French player for half an hour before re-joining the rest of the cast.
The mother of one, whose son Kelyan was born in February last year, adorned giant posters nationwide, wearing just her bra and knickers. The campaign boosted M&S lingerie sales by 20 per cent and was one of the key factors behind the company's recent revival.
Miss Lenoir, the daughter of a Madagascan mother and French father, was also part of the company's phenomenally successful marketing campaign featuring Twiggy, Laura Bailey and Erin O'Connor.
A 30-second TV commercial starring the four women saw womenswear sales jump up nearly 10 per cent in the first three months.
The ¡ê35 pair of black and white tie court shoes that Miss Lenoir wore became the subject of frenzied weblogs on teenage fashion sites, while her swimsuit flew out of stores within its first week of going on sale. Until this year, the model and actress was largely unknown in Britain. She is, however, hugely successful in the US and Europe, where she has appeared in campaigns for Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, Gucci, Victoria's Secret and L'Oreal.
