Overrated Actors

Jamie Foxx
Tom Cruise
Kate Bosworth
Julia Roberts
Eva Longoria
Rachel McAdams

I'll have to agree with Julia Roberts.

And I'd like to have Drew Barrymore. There's a fine line with her between overexposure and overrated but either way she's a terrible actress.

TOM CRUISE!!! :sick::sick::sick:

And Colin Farell... Eva Longoria (gorgeous, but a horrible actress)

and... LINDSAY LOHAN.. if you call her an actress that is.

Daykota Fanning. I can so utterly tell she's acting. It's painful to watch her. So, So overrated.

Penelope Cruz
Julia Roberts
Eva Longoria
Teri Hatcher
Emma Watson
Daniel Radcliffe

Honestly Eva and Teri I think are the worst actors in Desperate Housewives, i've stopped watching the show because it's so awful now. I don't understand all the hype about the HP kids. I don't see anything special about their acting at all, nothing stands out to me, no superb performances. Just the same expressions and a melodramatic performance for each movie. To me they haven't "grown" as actors at all, merely just changed their look.

Julia Roberts
Kirsten Dunst
Hillary Duff
Kate Hudson
Olsen Twins
and the rest of the actresses...

...but these that had been listed are the worst ones ever...I can't believe that they are still asked to play...WTF...?

Angelina
Wayne Brady
Nick Cannon
Vin Diesel
Halle
Bill Cosby
Gwyneth
Hilary Duff
Lindsay
Raven Symone
Hilary Swank
Eva Longwhoria
Jessica Alba
Colin Farrell(I still love him to pieces)
Brad Pitt
Jennifer Lopez
Aniston
Bruce Willis
Kirsten Dunst
Jamie Foxx(You cannot and will never fit the shoes of Ray Charles)
Vivica A. Fox

Yeah...ok....but have you seen other movies with this woman...?

I have unfortunately. She does not know how to act, she is just an annoying SJP in everything she does.

Other overrated actors...

-River Phoenix: I'm not saying he was a bad actor, but would he have been recognized as such a legend if he wouldn't have died so tragically? His career was budding (and, yes, I do know he had worked since his teens), and that is what it is.

-Johnny Depp: Done some good films with good acting, but overall, mediocre, and these days, Tom Cruise without the scientology. He just seems to want attention and has never tried to get away from the sex symbol-status...I guess what bugs me the most with him is the fact that he is recognized as an artistic independent and art house- actor, which he clearly is not. He is hailed as the best actor of his generation (that status belongs to Sean Penn in my mind) and the heir of Brando...I strongly disagree. Depp had a lot of potential in his 90s career, but it never went anywhere.

-Marilyn Monroe: I love this woman. Still, I do not think she was a great actress, not even a great comedian. Her role was always the same; the sexy, a little bit dumb blonde bombshell. Many people think of her as a great actress based on her last film, The Misfits, in which she did show potential. Maybe if she would have continued on that way she could have achieved something in acting, but her status as "Marilyn" would have always overshadowed her. The thought of her as a great actress is based on the myths and her early death. I'm not saying she was dumb, but she wasn't a good actress.

-Keira Knightley: I like her because of her looks on the screen. That is her appeal, and she cannot act. The fact that she is British and has taken roles in films like "The Jacket" or "Domino" seem to make people think she is great. And I wonder when do people realise that having a nomination for a film prize does not mean the person in question has actually done good work.

-Christina Ricci: Ricci has done good work in films such as "The Ice Storm", but other than that, isn't the hype about her based on the fact that she is "cool" and has different looks?

And it's funny how everyone who acted in "Brokeback Mountain" is a GREAT actor these days...

Gwyneth Paltrow
Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Aniston
Julia Roberts
Jamie Foxx
Penelope Cruz (she is painful to see and listen in any language)

Agreed 1000%. I'll never understand the hype about this girl and she's actually quite grating on screen.

You know, I used to like Scarlett Johannson...but ever since I watched more of her movies (including the incredibly awful "Black Dahlia" - she was the absolute worst actor there, even worser than Josh Hartnett!), I think she is HIGHLY OVERRATED. I actually think she's a bland actress - beautiful, but bland.

LOL, and that critic Richard Roeper is very anti-Scarlett too. His reviews of her movies are hilarious...I think he may have something personal against her, because his reviews of her acting are absolutely scathing. (Just to note: I have nothing personal against Scarlett. I think she's beautiful. Just very, very overrated in terms of her acting ability.)

^ I was just about to post exactly the same comment on Scarlett. She's way overrated.

Completely agree about Scarlett.

Jamie fox is EXTREMELY overrated (one film does not make you the legend everyone touting you around to be. And all the oprah love....)

I would say Emma Watson is THE most over-rated HP kid. Daniel Radcliffe has some acting merit (his work on 'extras' actually installed some faith that he might have a shot at a career when HP ends) and Rupert Grint definitely has talent.

Angelina Jolie

Lindsay Lohan (she's actually being hyped up as some brilliant method actress hidden beneath expensive clothes and too much make-up...)

I don't agree... I think Depp is an excellent character actor, and to compare him to Tom Cruise is insane. Has "never tried to get away from his sex symbol status?" Look at the array of nutty or off-beat characters he has played, for example, in Benny & Joon, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fear & Loathing..., ... Scissorhands...
