Pale / Fair Skin - What Are Your Fave Products? #2

I personally swear by my Laura Mercier concealer, and this is coming from someone who always has awful bags under my eyes, I use concealer number one. Although, I agree with Party Vixen, it's probably not the best one for covering up spots. So I just use it under my eyes. My mother, who has a slightly darker complexion then me and the same problem with under eyes, also swears by Laura Mercier concealer. She uses the same number as me. We found that in her case using a lighter colored concealer brightens up her face more.

^ It is a-mazing under the eyes. Such good coverage!

Definitely retract that statement, the makeup has started irritating my skin, so full of chemicals

I think I'm going to try Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation next, anyone tried it?

I haven't personally tried it... I'm pretty loyal to my EL double wear light. But Emily Weiss who runs the blog 'intothegloss' uses that foundation and has said good things about it. And she has a video of her applying it with her fingers and the coverage looks good and it appears quite blendable as well :flower:.

Anyone got a good recommendation for a strong concealer for fair skin? I recently had a really bad cold and I now i have a few horrible red veins around my nose :( I really want to hide them.

I have a question: I want to get the LM Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free for the summer, but have no idea what color I should choose. Nude seems quite dark and Porcelain looks too light. Does anybody have this product and can give some advice?

(I'm buying this online and can't try it on my skin)

LM Tinted Moisturizer definitely oxidizes on the skin, if you google you will see many other people make this same point, it becomes slightly darker after an hour or so. Don't want to give you bad advice by telling you which shade to go with, but I thought that might be helpful :flower:

I quite like Vichy Dermablend - Ultra Corrective Foundation Cream Stick - to conceal any redness.

Has anyone tried Everyday Minerals and could share some experiences?

I use Lily Lolo mineral foundation and I LOVE it. And I wasn't really into mineral make-up before, but this... it's just perfect. My shade is China Doll, but Porcelain is also very very fair.

I'm currently using a concealer by Dainty Doll. It's not excessively strong but I really like it. It comes in three very pale shades :flower:

It would be interesting to see responses to this question? I have to use a concealer for dark circles underneath my eyes.

I second milourh's suggestion: Vichy dermablend.

Very opaque concealer and literally covers everything. I think Lisa Eldridge has a video of her applying it on her website - I think it has something to do with how to cover up acne / redness, in case you go looking for it :flower:.

ive discovered Liz Earle's tinted moisturiser just recently. i love love love it! it comes in a very pale shade for us pale girls (hooray!) and i swear by it, its great. just enough coverage and leaves your skin looking dewy and polished. id definatley recommend it, ive stopped wearing foundation (apart from very special occasions!) and just stick to this. Thought i'd share incase anyone was looking for something like this! :flower:

:flower: Thanks sundaymorning for sharing, I will have to keep that one in mind.

I'm not even a week in using Koh Gen Go Aqua, but I don't think it's the one for me -- seems to oxidize quite a bit, settles into any dry skin patches (my T zone is a bit on the dry side), and also doesn't seem suited for cool skin tones.

I went to the Dainty Doll counter a while back, and for the first time in my life, found that the palest shades on offer were too light for me! I couldn't vouch for the performance of any of it, but for me, the shades on offer were fantastic.

I haven't tried everyday minerals, but all mineral makeup is not created equal. Alima Pure is way way better. There are a lot of reviews on Makeupalley of people switching from Everyday Minerals & Bare Essentials to Alima. Plus they have sooo many colors (their palest shade is nearly white). It's the best foundation I've ever used, I'll never go back to liquid again!

I tried Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation in Rose Ivory two days ago in a store. It was a real dissapointment. It was too dark and yellow for me. I really thought that this one was gonna look great on me. Maybe Cream Ivory would suit me better.

I'm back on MAC. This time Studio Sculpt Foundation in NC15. It's perfect. ^_^

I'm obsessed with Chantecaille Future Skin in Ivory. I had the Porcelain shade originally because Ivory seemed so dark in the pot, but Ivory gives a bit more "life" to my pale/cool skin and is barely darker than Porcelain. I love this foundation, sheer but build-able, doesn't oxidize, a healthy slightly dewy finish, no fragrance. So amazing.

I was using Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid makeup in 1CN1 prior to this, and had a good experience with it. I would compare it to Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua, only better [no fragrance, a nicer finish]. Would recommend it as well.

I was interested in trying YSL Teint Eclat, but the fragrance put me off. It also seems really similar to the Estee Lauder Invisible.

Anybody know who stocks dainty doll in Ireland? Also anybody with any experience with the product what is your opinion?

Do you guys have any product recs for things to even out skintone? I find as someone who is quite pale (and a bit transluscent) any type of imperfection shows and I would love to look like I have a more even skintone without wearing heavy foundation. It's mostly just general slight redness around the nose, etc. not major spot coverage.
