Paul & Joe for Target

As I guessed, Target has released more in the pressroom on the P&J line as of July! There's a headshot of Sophie Albou. Still unable to download look pics and no bio/news release. Maybe after the holiday. Here she is:

Now that I've noticed that's an owl bag, Im' hoping not to be disappointed when the close-ups are enabled.

I wish that the Go International Collection was not geared toward Juniors. That makes all the designers submit weak, juvenile designs. Most people with a serious eye for fashion will only like 1 or 2 pieces at best, if anything at all.
You may have a point. I hardly consider my eye for fashion to be strictly "serious" (I think it has a sense of humor - I hope... :p), but I've been pretty unhappy with these Target lines, despite my usual hopes.

I mean H&M have done it... TopShop have done it and La Redoute have been doing it forever, and I've been satisfied with all their results. (The only problem is, I only have access to La Redoute... I'd trade some V&R for H&M with the piddling value of my near-hollow soul  ) Of course, they seem all to have chosen designers which I like more than those Target have commissioned, but one could assume Target's decisions in the matter were made with a 'juniors' audience in mind, and perpetuated from there... I hate the juniors department anyway, always have. :innocent:

I have LOVED paul&joe ever since i bought my first and only piece from them in paris in 2003. I'm soooo excited! Unfortunately we don't have a Target up here in Canada..anyone know if they ship here? If not...looks like i'm gonna have to get my bf to fill up his suitcase while he is down in L.A. in August :p

How has the sizing been for the past GO international lines (luella and tara jarmon)?

The printed tops are classic P&J. Very much like their collection from last spring, especially the green print trimmed in green with the empire waist. Very, very simillar.

sorry if this has been posted before but in this months teen vogue there is ALSO a logo sweater (i didnt see it posted on the target preview for the press) and shorts.

i wasnt crazy about the logo sweater.

lucy: there is a logo sweater posted in the pressroom pics...I posted it earlier in this thread with the others (it's blue & green, I believe). I'll try to find the pic in the magazine you mentioned...thanks! ;)

Is this the one you mean? (Target.com)

I think the sizing has been fairly accurate- just remember it is JUNIOR sizing though. So I think it depends where you shop because stores geared more towards teenagers and 20 year olds are usually smaller than stores geared towards 30+. :flower:

Just read this in The Daily....

The Daily has learned that the retail giant has chosen Behnaz Sarafpour for a collaboration on a capsule collection. Sarafpour will launch Target’s fourth design initiative from their successful Go International series.

^ interesting...thanks for the info :flower:

are they representing New York...? what if there was Marc Jacobs for Target? he would be the perfect representative for NYC. but it would never happen...

(NEW YORK)
After rampant speculation about Target’s next guest designer—and a rumor that a collection by Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez was in the works—The Daily has learned that the retail giant has chosen Behnaz Sarafpour for a collaboration on a capsule collection. Sarafpour will launch Target’s fourth design initiative from their successful Go International series—which in the past has featured affordable clothing and accessories from Luella Bartley, Tara Jarmon, and now Paul & Joe.
Details on the partnership remain mum, but the line will be unveiled to select fashion press at an intimate party on July 18 at Rockefeller Center. Everyone else craving Sarafpour’s designer goods at Target prices will have to wait until the line officially launches in November—or they can sample the ragamuffin chic of Paul & Joe, the British label partnering with Target this summer.

How do you go about getting your line in the stores like target and so on

yep, fashionweekdaily is pretty good with news. they broke the luella story before anyone else.

heh, i wonder what the behnaz commercials will say..."And now from Iran..."

i think its a pretty good choice actually. i'm pleased.

How ARE they going to justify her as "international"?

she's originally from Iran.

Thanks for the news! ^_^
Iran is an interesting choice, imo.
P&J is "ragamuffin chic"?!? HAHAHA.

I love how Target is just dabbling with all these great international designers. And we Americains here in the states get la mode de Euro for cheap. It must be a give from heaven.
Sorry to all you people that live in places where there is no Target store. I really really pity your loss. Here some flowers:flower:

Those paisly pants looked like pajamas to me. I like the owl bag and the red dress that's in the same picture. A few minutes ago, I was thinking, why don't they do an American designer?...and then I was like, DUH!

Well, I know she's from Iran, but she grew up in America, lives here, and works here, so she's still American.
