well, I also tried them and didn't like very much how they looked on me, but I hope that the tights will solve the problem. I'm size 40 and my ankles are not super skinny, so I believe this was the reason, also the shoe is somewhat heavy looking, but I really love the shoe it self

Really? I find them to be extremely comfortable... I broke them in by taking my dog for a walk in them.
