Prada 'Candy' Fragrance 2011 : Léa Seydoux by Steven Meisel

Press release.

Candy is feminine

Prada Candy is instantly seductive – pure pleasure wrapped in impulsive charm. In an explosion of shocking pink and gold, Prada Candy takes us on a walk on the wild side, showing us a new facet of Prada femininity where more is more and excess is everything.

Taking extremity as a starting point for new ideas, Prada Candy evolved from a desire to push things to the maximum, to create totally new, unexpected and optimistic concepts. Prada Candy declares that there is no better time than now to be daring and passionate about life.

The advert confuses me a bit but in a good way. Lea is perfect for the fragrance - can't wait to see the perfume up close.

Very strange but in a good way. It seems like it could be one of those iconic perfume commercials someday...

i briefly smelled it today and it smells like cotton candy to me. sweet and not much else. what would the prada woman (think the one from daria werbowy commercial) say about this hello kitty in disguise?

POINTLESS MUCH

I believe the sweet, candy scents sell better than any other fragrance type, especially in Asian countries.

I want to like it (I've yet to smell it) but by everyone's comment it seems like I won't, I don't like overly sweet scents.

This is ridiculous! There in not one moment in the video that I did not cringe. How in the world did Prada go from the genius of A Thunder Perfect Mind with Daria Werbowy to this?!

What is disappointing most of all about this advertisement is that, for me at least, there is nothing intrinsically Prada about it. It lacks sophistication, it lacks that Prada aesthetic, but worst of all it lacks that certain intellectualism that one normally sees in Prada advertising campaigns. This is much more the kind of campaign one would expect to see from Juicy Couture or something....

Saw the TV ad for the first time today, I like it. It's playful and really catchy. Plus Lea looks gorgeous, and I loved the panties flashing it suits the little naugthy but still innocent feeling.

Can't stop watching the video. Léa really is perfect for it, I love the way she sings Runnin' Wild!

The commercial is so silly I can barely watch it.

The animation is absolutely lovely, though.

I actually love the commercial. It's cute and naughty and Léa is gorgeous. Fits the description of the fragrance really well.

I couldn't agree anymore. I feel like it'd be more suitable for a Dior perfume. Even though I have yet to smell the perfume, I feel like the whole perfume itself is lacking the Prada aesthetic, the regality in Prada and its perfume, as well as its campaigns. To make it better, they should have at least made the drawing as the campaign.
