Prada : What Went Wrong?

I love all that 'digital' talk lol. IA with every single one of you who call bullsh!t on the 'digital failure'. Look at Phoebe's Celine, not a single stitch sold online and the brand still did exceptionally well.

I'm honestly so disappointed because this was the perfect opportunity for Prada to do something new and experiment. Instead they just decided to put their logo on an already existing style. How creative. Some of the designs I saw online that people were speculating about were so much more interesting than this. This is the epitome of lazy design but I'm sure it'll still sell out, especially if the release is going to be so limited (it looks like there'll be only 700 pairs?). I definitely won't be holding my breath next time. The bag is also just ugly.
Wonder how much they'll charge for all-leather Superstars with a Prada logo on them
I read somewhere before that the shoes will be moderately priced, around $300 I think. Still too much if you ask me, especially for this.

Blimey, they've really just slapped their logo onto classic Adidas pieces? And she should've kept that God-awful bowling bag in 2000 where it belongs.

Not sure how much Miuccia contributed to this, but either way it's sloppy and the end result looks cheaper than a Chinese knock-off. This actually harms the Prada brand more than it benefits them.

Hey Miuccia, more ideas for you! Add your brand name here, and hurry up to get the hype train (because Balenciaga is already riding it) !:

Color Design Factory

This is just pure merchandising. "I´ll give you my logo, if you give me yours!"...I was expecting a true collaboration with Adidas, like the one with Rick Owens...but it seems design is a luxury which luxury brands cannot afford these days!

It’s like a design bad buzz...Everybody was side-eyeing the whole thing when it was announced and everybody was disappointed when the images were released...
They could have put one of their archival print on the whole shoe. It’s lazy but less than this mess...

Why are they trying to push the bowling bag? It’s just an ugly bag...
So because Dior has the Saddle, Fendi the baguette, they feel the need to keep up?

And they also unveiled their collaboration with Oakley. The collection consists of ski helmets and goggles.

It's very anti-climatic.

EDIT: OK, I thought they at least developed these products, but again they only slapped their logo onto already-existing things! This is getting more and more ridiculous.

And they also unveiled their collaboration with Oakley. The collection consists of ski helmets and goggles.

Even though Oakley's ski line is different to the douchebag-like sunglasses line which we're all familiar with in terms of prestige, it's yet another head-scratching move. I know collabs are all the rage right now, but really? Oakley? Is Patrizio responsible for selecting the partners, because it looks like it was selected by someone completely out of touch.

Maybe instead of running around looking for other brands to leech off of, get your own house in order first.

So the Adidas shoes only come as a set with that atrocious bowling bag, yours for £2,300.:rofl:

^^
It’s for the hypebeasts. You shouldn’t even be surprised...
I would rather buy a classic RTW piece.

Prada and L'Oréal announce the signing of a long-term license agreement

Not even something chic like Glossier, L'oreal!
These partnerships feel so surreal, as if we are witnessing a meltdown playing right in front of our eyes, which will eventually leave Prada where Burberry once was during their chavvy phase.

I hope they know what they're doing because so far nearly every single decision has sounded like a terrible brand dilution.

Well, it's clear they want to go as mass as possible. Honestly, I don't see Prada as a beauty brand. Apart from a few shows, they never went for dramatic or experimental beauty. Where do they want to go from that? Artificially create a "Prada lipstick color"?
