Proenza Schouler for Target

I'm confused after reading this whole thread... will the collection be in stores Feb 1 or Feb 4?

The clothes look great on everyone IRL

misspriss, both of these items look amazing on you! especially the cabin brown dress! you have great skin by the way and i think the darkness of the dress compliments it.

does the silk bustier seem like it might snag? that's the only thing im worried about.

miracle of miracles, i received my "misshipped" target box. the cabin brown dress is really dark. the material seems to me to be much better than luella's cotton voile! i ordered a size 7 because i have a large ribcage. there is a little gappyness in the cup area but i expected that. its nothing a little tape wont fix.

my next shipment should be arriving in a few days...

Thanks so much lucy92! You are too kind!! I am so glad that you are happy with your dress! The silk on the bustier top could snag, but the silk it more substantial that most silk tops I own, so maybe that works in our favor- it is not as delicate as some silk tops would be- and maybe not as likely to snag? Has anyone received any other items? I would love to see more pictures!

Sorry for the delay...technical difficulties...these are rough pictures taken in the mirror (do not judge the clothes by me or my picture taking ) But again, these are straight out of the box, wrinkles and all. The silk top looks better in person- the colors are better.

retrogurl, i have found the sizing to be about the same as the go international collections in the past. i wore a 5 in tara jarmon, paul & joe, etc. and i wear a 5 in proenza schouler. in other contemporary clothing lines, i wear a 2 or sometimes 4. and you never know...maybe your shipment will show up early! it has happened to me before!

i have a feeling that maybe target will put the items online on feb 4th and maybe some in the stores on feb 1, because they want to draw folks like us into the stores to get us to buy other items.

there was a story in todays freebie metro newspaper that this is the biggest ever go international collection with seventy items!

did anyone catch the story about costco in sundays new york times? it says that costco is following the go international plan by having newer clothes in there for shorter periods of time to draw a constant stream of shoppers. im glad more stores are looking into this idea.

I called my Target this morning to find out if they were stocking the clothes on the 1st or 4th. The convo went something like this...

me: Hi, is the proenza schouler collection coming out on the 1st or 4th?
salesgirl: What is that? Clothes?
me: yes, it is part of the GO collection
salesgirl: what was that? Glow?
me: No, GO
salesgirl: Okay, can you spell that name again? (me spelling ps)
salesgirl comes back after talking to a manager and tells me that it will start to come out on the 4th with more pieces arriving between then and the 16th.

Anyway, nobody here knows what the hell the GO collection is, even when they work at Target. I went through the same thing with the Luella stuff. I'm kind of bummed they are staggering the release of certain items. I wanted to go once, get a look at everything, try on what I needed to, and then buy what I could. Then I could come home and order anything else online I decide to buy later. I don't want to have to go each and every week to see what else is released and hope that I didn't miss anything selling out. I wonder if all of the targets are doing it this way or if it is just because I live in a place where fashion savviness is a bit slow.

yup, ALL the targets are doing a staggered release. the release will be staggered online as well.

because there are 70 items they wont have room to release them all at once.
usually they release a bunch of new items monthly. two months into it, we should see the first wave of things on clearance. yay!

i don't need directions, i have a pretty good idea of how to get there.

i usually grab the metro on the way to work, but i was in a rush....good to know that the collection is the hugest to date! and thanks for the tidbit about costco! i will be accompanying my aunt to costco more often...

argh...i can see how staggering pieces might be a good business move, but it sure is inconvenient for me...

hmmmm--if there are 70 pieces and a "bunch" are brought out on a monthly basis, how long will it take for the entire collection to come out?

i think the entire collection will be out by april 1.
i kind of enjoyed the staggering of the collection. keeps me from blowing too much $ on it.

during luella's run some items went on sale only a month into the release.

I agree that staggering the pieces makes it much easier on the wallet. I would just like it a lot better if we knew the exact dates the pieces would be rotated and which ones. I know, I'm being awfully nitpicky, just a little inpatient for this Sunday to arrive I guess.

Did anyone else notice how many things are already out of stock on amazon? I'm assuming it is from people buying them because the ones that appear to not be available for sale yet simply say "item not available" but many others say out of stock in certain sizes which leads me to believe they were available and are now sold out.

I was wondering if the items listed on amazon.com were the items that would be in the first wave of releases? In other words, those would be the items in the store on February 1st or 4th, and then the other items that we know are out there, but not pictured are the ones to come in future "waves"? Hope that this makes sense

Just got my shipment today. I got the blue silk bustier, and the bustier dresses in both sizes.

The dresses run true to size, I would say. (My bodytype is similar to a pole, I'm not curvy.) My chest size is 30", and my waist size is 27" and the size 1 fits me perfectly.

The bustiers are definitely a bit tight. The XS fits, but it's a little bit tight around my waist. The small is a bit loose around my bust, but feels better around the my waist. Arrgh. If I go with the small, it will be easy to layer with things, but I won't be able to wear it alone. If I go with the XS, I can wear it alone, but I won't be able to layer it with other items! How frustrating!

I went into Target today and they had a few pieces up already. They had a grey sweater, yellow tshirt, red and white striped shorts, grey and white striped pants, and a silk grey shirt

i convinced my boyfriend to take me to target on the way home from snowboarding this weekend...
hopefully i'll be able to score some other pieces...
