Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garcons for H&M Designer Collection

the whole of stockholm is covered with h&m c'd'g ads. i'm curious about this collection, some interesting pieces on the "homme" side of it.

same story here in Finland and in the rest of the Nordics. All of the bus stops are covered with ads and they have three ads on TV during one commercial break. They seem to have really put a lot of money into the marketing of this collection.

Would be nice to hear about the quality of this collection from our Japanese forum members (both womens and mens collections).

No kiddin! Today I saw huge ads inside the Oxford Circus tube station which is probably the most expensive place you can advertise in London. Tomorrow many more place will probably be covered in H&M ads.

I'm really wondering what it will be like in Los Angeles. I don't think I can go on a thursday but I don't want to risk my chances.. do you guys think the collection will survive by saturday?, there must be a certain clientele in LA for these kind of lines I suppose, I can't picture them too wild for it.. but you never know..

How long do they usually take to bring some more merchandise once the items are sold out, anyone knows?.

im in los angeles aswell and i have the same situation. I don't think my parent would be cool with me skipping school for this but i really hope that there's still peices by friday. i really want the polka dot shirts and the scarfs.:( but i also wonder if there's people here in LA going mad for this collection but then again i might be surprised by who's there.

 that's a bit frightening. h&m is taking over the world... I wonder how much money they have spent on advertisement for this collection?

i think its kind of humiliating and degrading to be waiting in line like this....

i mean i felt stupid waiting in line for the viktor and rolf collaboration. i felt like one of the world's biggest chumps. and i was only in line for 20 minutes....

i might theoretically wait in line overnight for beatles tickets, but not anything at H&M anymore.

it seems every year H&M wants the lines to be longer and the hype to increase. every year the decrease the number of stores the collections are in.

and i think they want people to pay double for the items on ebay as well, because then the high prices get reported in the tabloids like daily mail or serious newspapers like the new york times. it makes great press for H&M.
i haven't waited in line or bought any of the past collections seeing as this is the first collection i'm actually excited for, but i have a feeling i'm gonna feel the same way. my friend and i planned on waiting in line for it thursday but i know i'm gonna feel like a big doofus. i wonder if there'll even be a big turn out in la? i get out of class at 2pm thursday and i'm wondering if any of it will be left so i won't have to look like a dumb dumb waiting for the doors to open in the morning.

I can't believe how few shops in the US and UK will have these!
What for? Don't they want to sell the stuff???

Three of these "selected" H&M shops in Oslo are less than 7 minutes of walking from where I live. The fourth is maybe 20 minutes of walking. :D
Three others outside of the city are 20-30 minutes by train away. :D

I'll buy a thing or two or three. ^_^

2 more nights and I'll be queuing outside my H&M for some ladies stuff since I find the mens selection looks underwhelming :ninja:

i stopped by the 5th ave NYC store and they have pieces in the window, so i felt some of them because you can touch them because you can reach into the area. The trench was ODD. Maybe it's supposed to be like that, it was super thin and felt like cotton. ?? Maybe there was something i don't understand but i can tell you this could not keep you warm at ALL.

The merino cardi's were nice and the merino scarf was nice as well. I couldn't touch all the pieces, most were in the top windows..

The wool skirt and jacket pieces are a thick felt-like wool, the pleated skirt was cool, the rest of the stuff i can see being on really fashionable people who can handle wearing 3/4 drop wool pants, but that's not me, although i'm tempted to get them so i can try them on. The short jackets were also the felt-like wool, which would be nice.

The men's shirt i touched was very meh. I kept second guessing myself thinking i really didn't like the quality, but i'd hate to pass bad information along, maybe it's something i don't understand.

The polkadot stuff was really nicely done design-wise, i'll probably get those.

The $350 dress looked interesting in person, couldn't reach it, but seems like ok quality.

Ok, that's all i know. :D

I saw them yesterday night at HM window in Athens and the quality is more than I expected (at least for the window pieces)!!!

It's tomorrow....kinda excited. Anyway here is Mischa wearing that dress. Think they look pretty good!

So it seems the coat dress is the hottest item.
What other garments can be considered "key"/instant sellouts?
The blazers? The ruffle skirts?

Is there a complete price list I can reference?

i say that coat dress is on the top of the list. i don't care about the other items. But it seems like the polka dot items are going to sell quickly too.

It's going to be nuts just for that coat dress. I'm securing one for myself no matter what!

i'm sorry but she just does not carry that piece very well. it looks dreadful with the other crap she's put with it.

would you really expect otherwise?
I found out that the new H&M that opened here last week is stocking it, so hopefully will still be stuff there when I go at 11. Though I know I'll be fuming when I hear the ignorant comments of the crowd who are there because it's a yearly excursion. :ninja:

the had all the pieces and the prices up on the site yesterday.

i wont be able to go to the only hm around that carries it till saturday. i'll see if there's anything left - and im pretty positive there will be. this store is so out of town i find it hard to believe that even the most die-hard fashionistas will go there in a hurry. plus its not like the cavalli  one - cdg is way less popular around here so.. my hopes are up! :D

i saw some of the collection on display at the store window yesterday in SF. the only piece i am craving for is the deconstructed blazer! from what i can tell standing behind the window, the quality looks pretty good.

juicemajor, please post your source for your image or it will be deleted.
