Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garcons for H&M Designer Collection

could somebody post more information/interviews/biography of rei kawakubo? I want to know more about her...

you overheard ebay resellers talking about how the dress-coat could be valued at 2,000$ on ebay?

that's genuinely awful. :(

yeah, there was this particular woman who came with her mother ( who was probably the only person that didn't even know H&M much less knew about CDG) and her daughter were peeking through the window pointing at the dress talking about $2000...

I've looked at the UK Ebay and that infamous guy who stated that he was going to sell the dresses for 800 pounds has put his merchandise up. I've counted 4 dresses from that guy alone.

Lagerfeldboy- That's where i was. I saw that guy take all the scarves. How horrible!

educo- What's more is that it has 2 bids! I WISH it didn't sell because it makes this guy money and he's horrible :/ It's so stupid because there's one in the same size starting at £150 withno bids yet this man selling hiis for £800 has 2 bids!!!!

I went into my store in birmingham today to return a cardigan, and there were still loads of trench coats left in both colours, a couple of dresses alot of plain shirts a few black polka dot shirts and some wool jumpers. so if anyone was interested in those items they had a few :flower: I also returned the navy polka dot cardigan so there was one of those earlier

I went yesterday morning there were quite alot of people but there seemed to be enough of most things to go around except for the pants, bags, scarfs and the deconstructed jacket which went really fast. And there weren't to many crazy ebayers! I got the maroon cardigan and the navy polka dot shirt the items id wanted.

waxy- If MJ did a line it'd be exactly the same as the CDG one because he always copies Rei haha!

Well H&M copied MJ stuff all the time so I don't see a point doing an exclusive edition. I would like it if it was with Ralph Lauren or Donna Karan. :P

Wow, I noticed some with low starting bids and that's how it should be if you're going to sell it. I don't know how much the dress was in pounds, but the guy has the audacity to start the bid that high putting in lights that he's already making at least double the amount in profit even before the auction ended!!

I hope those people who bid are crying right now, because they discovered another auction starting at a lower price.

I just wanna email all the bidders and offer to buy the same piece and sell it to them for the same price as I bought it...I feel sorry for them!!!!!!! And also I don't want those mean sellers to sell anything!

loonaka- email meee lol joking
educo- the dress was £200 so they're selling for 4x the RRP at the beginning of the auction!

^no H&M in Brazil ???
really ??????
but maybe you can buy online, non ?
someone said that the country where the collection wasn't delivered can order online ....

^only where online shops are available. and thus far only continental europe has that luxury.

more greedy shoppers from the NYdailynews.com...
i loved this quote from the story:rolleyes:

"I spent around $1,200,” admitted Brooklynite Brian Li. "I couldn't get everything I wanted because it was too hectic, so I just grabbed everything I could see."

on ebay.fr only one thing is taking = the woman jacket ...
auctions started at 9.9€ and are now at 120€ .... (one jacket from the real CDG line - 2003 - is at something like 70-90€ ...........)
the rest is most of the time 0 to 2 bids ......
selling on ebay in france wasn't the greatest idea.
i still hadn't find time to go to my local h&m but i'll go tomorrow to see if there's something left ...

pic and excerpt from the San Francisco gate...

AN H&M employee grabbed three coat-dresses for herself in one san francisco store!
can you believe someone admitting this to a reporter? shouldnt she be fired or something? :o

First Comme, First Served
by Anastasia HendrixOn your mark, get set ... SHOP!

"I got the white buttonhole suit!!!' said shopper Tony Bravo. "The wallets are gone! F---!'' said another shopper.
"Monica" who didn't want to give her last name, was first to get to the register carrying only one item, a $129 black asymmetrical jacket in size 2. "This is so exciting, it's the only thing I wanted. I might wear it right now. I can't believe I got it."
Six minutes was all it took to clean out the racks at H&M this morning at the Powell Street store, when the edgy Japanese Comme des Garcons collection by Rei Kawakubo went on sale.
San Francisco sold out seven minutes faster than the L.A. Beverly Center, which also debuted the collection today. Only eight U.S. stores were selected to carry the capsule collection.
Maybe you haven't heard, but the reclusive designer who has never done a secondary line, has caused a feeding frenzy here and abroad this week.
Elke Grant was the first in line. She and some friends staked out a space at 1 p.m. yesterday and slept on the street on yoga mats and blankets they bought from the Walgreen's across the street.
Even though she's an H&M employee, she was totally jazzed when the doors opened at 9:45 (fifteen minutes earlier than usual because of the hundreds of people in line). In she ran, with a well-planned strategy (more on that later), heading straight to the $349 coat dress, an intriguing combination of pinstripes, ruffles, ribbons and silk moire.
Bravo, who works for the Museum of Performance and Design, saw his shopping karma kick in at about 10 a.m., when he spied a rack of men's suits roll by. "I prayed and I grabbed,'' he said. "Miracle of miracles, I found my size.''
He will wear what he bought, unlike many others in line who were there only to stock up and re-sell their purchases on eBay. By 11 a.m., some items were already posted.
What was left? Plain black, white and khaki button-down men's shirts that looked like anything you could get at Target. "I'm not sure about this polka-dot sweater,'' said a customer who wouldn't give her name because she called in sick to work that morning. "This looks like something H&M would carry any day of the week.'' Whether or not the stuff was all that great didn't seem to matter much.
The hot items included polka-dot blouses, lace-up sneakers, scarves, wallets, fedoras, the coatdress, white ruffle shirts, asymmetrical jackets, men's khaki trenches, satin jackets, harem pants and slouchy shorts. In other words, most everything on display.
Grant's post-frenzy report: "We were the first in line. My friend went and grabbed the three coatdresses,'' she said. (There were only five in the store)."She pulled all three, we ran to the bottom of the escalator, she handed them off to another friend, and he handed them off to me.''
She's thrilled with the coatdress. "I think it's so beautiful. It's very different, so intricate, it looks like a piece of art.''
After the racks were emptied, yet another line formed. This one was for what was left on the mannequins and in the windows that were soon to be stripped

I wonder how ppl behaved in Sweden, I mean here in Oslo, Norway at the store I went to people didn't start to line up till about 9:45 am, and yeah people were hurrying to get what they wanted, but they didn't push or take like a million things with them..and the HM staff kept restocking all the time^^ I guess Norwegian people are afraid of letting the animal inside get to them..:P
