Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garcons for H&M Designer Collection

mistress_f they're going for £800+ on UK ebay which is like more than 1000 euros! I don't understand how there are so many velvet + wool dresses left, they're one of the best items! There were some left in every branch I went into today and I just don't understand! I love it although it's a bit too special occasion for me so as I only ever buy everyday wear it wasn't for me.

It's interesting how different cities have different items that weren't sold. When I left the store on Thursday, there were tons of cocktail dresses left (I could understand the trench...it just isn't made for Toronto weather)!

im surprised (yet happy :D) that the dress was still available everywhere... i mean it's the first thing i really noticed out of the collection and the only one i really WANTED. good for me, though :D
it's totally my style and i cant wait to wear it out
(not today, it's still way too warm around here for wool and velvet :|)

(lol i've just seen the limited dress on ebay going at 795 euros... WHAT? i'd rather buy something from the main collection if i have to spend 795. it makes no sense at all)

eeek that's totally rubbish! just like you, i'd rather buy something from the main line!

mistress_f- are you going to wear it as a day dress or evening?

im not sure. i wear that kind of dress in the day generally, but the velvet top is kinda inhibiting... i havent worn anything velvet since i was a rebellious goth teenager ahahahha! i'll probably wear it at night, but i dont really consider it too formal so i guess with time i'll get more comfortable with it and start wearing in in the daytime aswell... if it makes any sense

Yes I would wear it in the day probably just because it's gorgeous and I don't go to the sort of parties you dress up for. Well I hardly attend any parties at all but when I do they're full of hipsters and your clothes will rprobably get alcohol soaked anyway

in the end i didn't go to h&m today ... the shop is too far anyway and i went to the library instead ...

Many items are listed at high prices but nobody actually bids on them. And if someone it isn't uncommon for the bidder to bail out and not pay for the item. A quick look on eBay reveals tons of items from the collection and some at absurd price considering the sub-premium materials the clothes are made of, not to mention not being handmade. I would never pay double or triple premium for a faux luxury merchandise. Better to spend the money on the real deal cause at the end of the day many of the items from the collections are nothing remarkable, it's all just hype.

yeah i know ... insane ...
that's why i'm comparing the h&m auctions with real cdg auctions on ebay.fr ...
and people are just sick in their head !!!
anyway ....
next year. next hype.

Any montrealers know what happened downtown? Anything left?

Kimkhuu,

In the women's section... lots of peacoats (black and navy), pola dotted cardigans (brown and red/burgundyish, cream polkadots), plain shirts (non ruffled), asymetrical sweaters, polka dotted shirts, very few blazers left (maybe they'll be gone today!).

They had a navy coat, I think? I don't really know the pieces all that well, plus a couple of plain buttondowns. That was on the evening of the opening, so who knows what's left now.

Thanks I was thinking about just going to check but I was not up to waiting in line. I do like the velvet dress so I might go check tomorrow

i thought i wanted to take part in this, but the behavior i've read about here is appalling.. there were a couple things i liked but not so much that i'm willing to tackle someone over whatever i can get my hands on.. that's just ridiculous and sad

i love Rei, but i'm turned off by how much of a phenomenon this has become.. i don't care how elitist that sounds..

^i wouldnt worry about the "phenomenon" reflecting poorly on Rei, just on H&M. they are the ones that are manafacturing and encouraging the hype, long lines, crowding and poor behaviour.

ita. she's very busy with the collaborations (h&m, LV) and i think it is to reach another customer, a non-cdg customer. interesting.
i read recently that loss is merely change, and now i see in some circumstances, change is also loss.
