yah...i'd like to see if anything changes since it's coming from a woman's perpective now...i think it will still be high octane SEX...because that's the gucci market...but that gold top is already a departure...i want to see the rest...Originally posted by datura001@Jun 10th, 2004 - 2:44 am
It's going to be a very, very interesting time at Gucci with a powerful woman designing for powerful women in a way that differs greatly from what Prada or D. Versace are currently doing.

Ale, perhaps it was that night you spent with Tom Ford......I heard he's a snoopOriginally posted by Alejandro@Jun 10th, 2004 - 12:56 pm
What pisses me off is, that I designed some stuff that looks a lot like those pieces from Gucciesp. the shoes

I don't get it, how can you say that the designer didn't change anything fundamental but it came off less aggrassive......that's what Gucci's always been, aggressively sexy, somewhat fundamental in the Gucci vocabulary wouldn't you say?Originally posted by LibertyRose@Jun 11th, 2004 - 12:18 pm
The new designers did not change anything fundamental. Actually, the Gucci resort collection is quite refined. I love the bold colors, the trappings, and how the whole look comes off less aggressive than before.
anyone remember a company called naf naf...french...big in the eighties...i have a dress from them that i bought in nice,france...in the early 90's...that i swear is just like this, but in blue...it was a very popular look...anyone else know what i'm talking about...this is a total knock off...but i obviously like it...because i already own a version of it...Originally posted by softgrey+Jun 9th, 2004 - 9:36 am--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td>QUOTE (softgrey @ Jun 9th, 2004 - 9:36 am)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'> <!--QuoteBegin-Lena@Jun 9th, 2004 - 2:24 am

You mentioned some of my favorite TF collections, the Goth/Kimono collection, the Mini/Kimono collection, the Safari, Tux, Gypsy and as I call it, the "Budoir collection", but I like your name for it tooOriginally posted by LibertyRose@Jun 12th, 2004 - 4:54 pm
It's still sexy, but less aggressive and more refined. The design elements are still there: corset details/trappings, bold colors, but I think the corset influence is less literal and the choice of colors is better.
I do like Tom Ford and think his shows are a joy to watch. You do not have to be a visionary designer to turn out a great collection. IMHO, Tom Ford struck gold with the YSL's gypsy collection AW01 and the Kimono collection for Gucci AW02 and showed how to be sexy in ethnically influenced clothes. And I like how his collections all have a clearly defined theme. Aside from the Gypsy and the Kimono, Gucci's Babydoll (AW01) and Kimono-Mini (SS03), and YSL's Tuxedo (AW01), Urban Sarafi (SS02), and Velvet (AW02) are all quite good.
