Resort 05

hmm gucci is not to bad, like the white shoes and the gold top i sok, but it seems exactly like tom so no big surprise

I'm still not getting why so many people are saying that the looks for Gucci are very much like what TF did. Mabye it's just me, but what I've seen doesn't seem Tom Ford at all. I don't know why, but I just do not see it.........It's not aggressive, or overtly sexy, or very glamourous for that matter, which to me anyway, was what TF is all about. I can understand if people like it, but I just don't understand how people are saying it's so similar to what Gucci was showing when Ford was there.

regarding Gucci, like softgrey said, the gold top is a departure from their usual style, as for 'agressive sexy' the whole idea seems very dated while fashion is moving towards a new more sensual 'covered' era
I agree. That's why Tom's departure could be good for Gucci since, as you said, 'agressive sexy' is way done.

Do brands like Helmut and Yohji release resort collections?

Thanks Lena for those photos. :flower:

The new designers did not change anything fundamental. Actually, the Gucci resort collection is quite refined. I love the bold colors, the trappings, and how the whole look comes off less aggressive than before.
I don't get it, how can you say that the designer didn't change anything fundamental but it came off less aggrassive......that's what Gucci's always been, aggressively sexy, somewhat fundamental in the Gucci vocabulary wouldn't you say? [/b][/quote]
gucci has always been about sex...but it hasn't always been about agressive sex...

there's your difference... :flower: ...it became more agressive in the later years...probably when the brilliant women tom worked with left...it became a man's point of view more and more...and so it became less interesting to me as a woman...that's my point of view... :flower:

PRINCE... :woot: ...you had a naf naf sweatshirt!!!...they were extremely popular with a certain group in the eighties... :innocent: it is definitely the same company... but my dress is more recent...cool...:flower:

I love the color, it'd be great with a jean skirt and t-shirt.

Comme des Garcons has that kind of connection.
and I think there are only a few pieces in Helmut Lang.

I like the Gucci resort collection. For some odd reason, I see a little Versace in it though :ninja:

Hmmmm, I'm torn on this one. I like the colors and the print, but I don't love the shape of it.....but I still really love what Maier has done at BV, his bags are beautiful!!
