Riccardo Tisci - Designer

A bit shocked, gone the way of Versace Atelier.... hmmmmm......

That leaves only Dior and Chanel among the French establishment.

i think Dior (with LVMH's backing) and Chanel are the only ones who make serious money with their Haute Couture business, no?

Dior is at least using its' Couture pieces in ad campaigns for their makeup, which is their main cash cow.

Givenchy lacks in that sense...

We were some of the lucky few who Riccardo Tisci talked personally through his astonishing couture collection for Givenchy. Based on his heroine Frida Kahlo, the collection, in hues of nude, gilt and black, encompassed delicate lace skeletons, beading details in the form of skulls and a dress studded with huge cabochon-cut gems. Tisci has decided to ditch the big show in favour of this personal appointment, where he was able to show us his craftsmanship to magnificent effect. A photograph of a line-up of his favourite models hung in the last room, and included one model he says is the new Lara, who hails from the same town in Holland.

the images probably dont even compare to how amazing the details are. i would love to see this is real life. *dreams*

For some reason, the video stops frequently even though my connection is fast . I really want to see .

I think someone was fiddling with it and made a mistake. I couldn't find Chanel HC earlier either.

^ we can't at the moment. just have patience, we might be able to restore it in the next few days. :flower:

Days? cant we just make another and merge the 2 once the other is recovered?
Based on the mod note for post #91 I am guessing that the folks at the House of Givenchy requested that the images be removed. I was wondering if a new thread can be started with the post having a link to an approved source (if there is one) and a note that new images can't be posted. Another option is restoring the old thread with the images temporarily deleted and then restore the deleted posts when they are given the green light but admittedly that is quite a bit of work for a mod to do.

The f/w 10/11 show thread. I wonder why Givenchy requested to remove them. It had AT LEAST 10.000 views and the collection has been critical acclaimed. So it's all good adverstising for them. That's why I don't understand it.

I didn't know tFS was famous enough for Givenchy officials to come shut a thread down.

What a bummer! The Givenchy couture show was the best of this couture season! The discussion was so lively.

I'm hoping for any of these two options but we're still waiting to hear from the company that owns us if they want to risk it. The pictures are certainly all over the web by now, it's just...

I was afraid of something like this happening ever since the news broke that they would not be doing a proper runway show.

Booooo! Givenchy! best collection of the season and we cant discuss it.
