Rolled pant legs S/S 08

oh that's not me in #139..i wish...it's the model from impulse seattle..

Any styling suggestions as to what kind of tops & footwear go best with this look?

I'm thinking Oxfords,Opening Ceremony/Rachel Comey/Chie Mihara/Marni type shoes and the tops?

^I like the top to be slightly loose.. not too much though, because well the pants kind of are.. But I really like a slightly loose blouse or a tank that's tucked in. I really like the look in #139..

Actually I wore this look today..

though I actually prefer it with a shoe that's open. weather it may be gladiators, regular sandals or a pair of 'raw' looking peep-toes.. ^_^

I just want to add that I am glad it is now OK to roll your pant legs all messy. I live where it is hot and always roll pants or jeans in summer...whew!!!

I adore the look really and it seems like it is pretty easy to pull even on trousers. I love it and have for years, so YAY!!!

I can't see the picture :( but thanks for the tips. I have this cute asymmetric oversized cotton marni top that I'm gonna try with my 'boyfriend pants' tomorrow. I agree about the open shoe thing, except maybe brogues or high heeled booties. But generally a slightly edgier looking sandal or open toed flats should be good. Nothing too frou frou or delicate. I'm so over skinny minnies, bring on the menswear inspired trouser!^_^

Because I'm 19 and a pack rat I have plenty of jeans and pants from middle and high school that still fit in the waist but are simply to short, so I've jaust taken to rolling them up right above the ankle so that they look like clam diggers. Paired with loafers and slouchy sweater or tee its rather comfy and chic.

Cute look, but this trend has already been overexposed before its even really started. Sigh..that's the life of a trend in the digital age.

you think? I've seen no one in real life (except me) doing this and the only celeb I've seen do it is Katie Holmes....I didn't think it would really come to it's peak until next summer...

i like this look, but only if it's done with looser jeans and pants.
valentine fillol-cordier wears them very well:

those are looser but they are still a fairly skinny leg. I like them with both styles. I think it's just an interesting touch and too subtle perhaps to be a full out trend unless everyone started doing it....which i hope they don't....

i guess i should have clarified that i only like baggier skinny jeans rolled up, not tight skinny jeans. when they're tight, it looks too hipster.

i prefer the tighter, skinny jeans rolled up look. But then again looser trousers always look bad on me.

I still think this is going to be huge...
This summer was rolled up denim shorts...
Next summer it will be rolled up, relaxed fit jeans...
Esp. if Alex Wang & Erin Wasson jump on it...
Hopefully not..

I just came back from Stockholm and there e v e r y b o d y had their pants rolled up...kids, grandparents, fashionistas....! Also the jacket sleeves...And everything without shape...not oversize just not fitting..80's are back I suppose...

i cannot stand the "folded over and rolled" look. it reminds me of 7th grade. the anxiety of making sure your pants were pegged properly before leaving the house in the morning. ugh! brings back such bad memories.
