Schizophrenic Style

Im so schizo, that I don't even know who lives behind my head...but that little voice behind my head that screams at me told me to say hello

I’m definitely also schizo! (I love the expression in this context!)

Perhaps that will change when I get older, but right now I just love so many different styles, that it’s impossible for me to stick to only one.

Exactly, that's what I suspected... most ppl here just think that being schizophrenic is about hearing voices in their head...
Nope! Ever heard of psychosis? Not fun I'll tell you that! Albeit, I've never actually experienced it.
Nope, I refuse to define my style in these terms...
If you ever saw the way schizophrenics dress you'd see what I mean...
Plus, it's kind of shallow and disrespectful to people who have this ailment... nothing fun there...

No, schizophrenia is Greek for 'split mind'.

No what???

I wasn't talking about the origin of the word per se...
I was talking about what it means to be schizophrenic and how they really dress!
Plus, there are lots of misnomers in medicine b/c what people knew then is very different from what we know now... But the name stays.

And actually, lack of abstract thinking (in your case) is a sign of low IQ...

Cheers!

yay!!!...so i''m not the only schizo around here... :stuart:

 I totally love how you described your way of dressing!

I definitlly get in fashion 'moods' and tend to wear my heart on my sleeve literally!

I still feel like no matter what 'look' I embrace at the moment I still look 100% like MYSELF.

No, in the case of this thread it is being used to mean someone who is in two minds about something. Szichophrenic can be used without implying the pyschological condition, which isn't actually a single, finite thing anyway.

I often wonder about what kind of sad person measures their worth by an intelligence quotient gleaned by a fairly biased test, but if you must know my 'IQ' is quite considerably above average.

Cheers!

sexed up...please don't make this about something it is not...life is difficult and usually gets harder as we get older...it's important to have a sense of humour in order to deal with exactly the kinds of things you are trying to steer this towards...

that's all this is...try to enjoy it with the rest of us please...

and please leave prince alone..i don't know who you are...but i don't think anyone on this board has any doubt about prince's intelligence..and i agree with him that one's IQ proves very little...i understood him perfectly to mean that no, he doesn't just think that schizophrenia is just about hearing voices in your head(as you stated above)...so that's "no what".... :flower:

maybe you should stick around a bit longer before jumping to conclusions...or maybe you should go if you don't like what we talk about... :flower:

have a nice day... :P

I definately have this "problem" ... I feel a different way everyday.. Sometimes I have trouble shopping because I feel different every day because I tend to go with buying what I would want to wear that day so sometimes I get stuck all in one mood because thats how I felt when I went shopping...

that's exactly what i'm talking about... :( ...and then i want to buy everything in one particular style and change my whole wardrobe...but then i get bored and buy a bunch of other stuff...but then i'll go back to something from before...and then i'll get something new and mix it with something old...

i feel like my head is spinning sometimes...slightly out of control...but then it all comes together... :woot: ...is that normal...?  :ninja:

do women do this more than men?...do you think?...

Schizochic, I love it! It sounds like something Galliano or McQueen would do (or knowing them might already have done, they've both played with insanity before)

Oh, my two cents and just to clarify to anyone......schizophrenia actualy has nothing at all to do with hearing voices in one's head. It is, as Prince pointed out, truly having a split personality meaning that mentally a schizophrenic is in fact two different people, not one who hears voices........

Pieces folks :flower:

I am kind of all over the place with my looks...but I like it that way :woot: B)

ditto!! :buzz:

but the condition of schizophrenia moves beyond having multiple personalities which most people confuse it for.

That said-Love the term of schizochic. It's official. It's from TFS.

I do understand that you can't be politically correct all the time, but the idea of reading about "schozophrenic" style or schizochic as you mean it in a magazine, does not make me smile... Quite the opposite, actually.
So go on, have your fun and I'll hope for the sanity of magazine editors, who with any luck and education, won't allow this unfortunate terminology to spread.
And Softgrey has it ever occured to you that even smart people make stupid mistakes? I couldn't care less of Prince's rep on this forum, considering that he's working pretty hard on maintaining it...
And Prince, you continue to demonstrate lack of abstract thinking! I couldn't care less what your IQ score is! I'm almost proud that I'm the first one here to doubt your intelligence! :P Talk about fresh perspective...

talk about taking 'improvised' fashion terms far too seriously...

dear sexedup,
it's only fashion and fellow member bashing is considered faux-pas here at fashion friendly tFS. Taking the oportunity to welcome you on board but please put the spear down, no need really.
share, respect, relax and enjoy the forums.

*No offence to schizoid personalities, no unfair abstract generalizations on how clinical schizophrenic people dress -or dress not- just an experimental term to discribe the currently popular, non stereotyped, melting pot style attitude, thats all.
