Exactly, that's what I suspected... most ppl here just think that being schizophrenic is about hearing voices in their head...
Nope! Ever heard of psychosis? Not fun I'll tell you that! Albeit, I've never actually experienced it.
Nope, I refuse to define my style in these terms...
If you ever saw the way schizophrenics dress you'd see what I mean...
Plus, it's kind of shallow and disrespectful to people who have this ailment... nothing fun there...

No, schizophrenia is Greek for 'split mind'.

No what???
I wasn't talking about the origin of the word per se...
I was talking about what it means to be schizophrenic and how they really dress!
Plus, there are lots of misnomers in medicine b/c what people knew then is very different from what we know now... But the name stays.
And actually, lack of abstract thinking (in your case) is a sign of low IQ...
Cheers!

schizochic is so adorable

I definately have this "problem" ... I feel a different way everyday.. Sometimes I have trouble shopping because I feel different every day because I tend to go with buying what I would want to wear that day so sometimes I get stuck all in one mood because thats how I felt when I went shopping...

Schizochic, I love it! It sounds like something Galliano or McQueen would do (or knowing them might already have done, they've both played with insanity before)Originally posted by softgrey@Aug 24 2004, 08:56 PM
lena....i think you've coined a new phrase...wish i had thought of that...
also wish i could see this kooky comination of styles...

sexed up...please don't make this about something it is not...life is difficult and usually gets harder as we get older...it's important to have a sense of humour in order to deal with exactly the kinds of things you are trying to steer this towards...
that's all this is...try to enjoy it with the rest of us please...
and please leave prince alone..i don't know who you are...but i don't think anyone on this board has any doubt about prince's intelligence..and i agree with him that one's IQ proves very little...i understood him perfectly to mean that no, he doesn't just think that schizophrenia is just about hearing voices in your head(as you stated above)...so that's "no what"....
maybe you should stick around a bit longer before jumping to conclusions...or maybe you should go if you don't like what we talk about...
have a nice day...

talk about taking 'improvised' fashion terms far too seriously...
dear sexedup,
it's only fashion and fellow member bashing is considered faux-pas here at fashion friendly tFS. Taking the oportunity to welcome you on board but please put the spear down, no need really.
share, respect, relax and enjoy the forums.
*No offence to schizoid personalities, no unfair abstract generalizations on how clinical schizophrenic people dress -or dress not- just an experimental term to discribe the currently popular, non stereotyped, melting pot style attitude, thats all.
