so back on topic, i bought them in pink satin on sale this january but i never used them so i sold them on eBay. i much prefer those with the print.

I know they are kinda....flashy...but I keep imagening them with a pair of jeans and go - "they would be PERFECT for...."

i got them in birger christensen on sale - they were 1000 only, so .. kind of had to. they were okay actually. the ankle strap is kind of weird but you'll soon get used to wearing them.

I sure hope you are right! Mid heels and the modified round toe is my favorite for shoes and boots. For heels I sure hope the huge clunky things continue to fade away - as well as those nasty "set in" heels of any height.

Ive noiced lots of round toes, lots of distressed brown/tan leather, a sort of biker look (flat, skinny thigh highs), the return of the stilletto !, and lots of heel.

lulu guinness has gone for a peacock feather T-Bar look, quite 40's/50's.

I agree that toes are getting rounder, heels are getting chunkier again. Funny story ... last fall I rummaged in my closet and came up with a pair of brown round-toe vintage style pumps from a few years ago with a chunkier stacked heel similar to what Prada was showing. Also a pair of tan suede flower shoe clips that I saved when I had to throw out the shoes they came with. I was wearing these with brown fishnets (the Donna Karan ones with the larger pattern that looks like ribbon ties wrapping around your leg) in Neiman's shoe dept and remember the stares & bitchy looks I was getting from some of the women trying on pointy-toed shoes, like "Oh s***, is that what I should really be wearing?! Where is it??" It was too funny. I got tons of compliments on these shoes, wore them more than the shoes I'd bought for the season, and of course it was the only pair in town.

I've been seeing lots of texture--lots of calf hair and pony hair and velvet. Lots of ballet slippers. Lots of exotics--croc, eel, snake, ostrich. And jeweled/decorated shoes are by no means over. (I personally like the continuation of this trend--I'd rather wear a brooch on my shoes than pin it to my clothes. And it makes shoes more interesting.)

I love round toes, but wish they were being paired with heels not *quite* so high. I have to walk alot and need my shoes to be at least reasonably practical. When I buy the really high heels, I end up not wearing them. Surely I can't be the only one who sometimes walks the dogs before running somewhere else, and has to walk across expanses of uneven cobblestones all the time??

I bought a pair of square-toe shoes and they are soooo comfortable. I think this trend is gonna be around awhile and my toes are very happy.
