In addition to my one-liner about Shalom above, have this one. It took a lot of Dutch translation, but think have finally found the real goods about...

- Elise Crombez applied with a friend (as a semi-joke) to a modeling competition held in Roeselare, Belgium. The same one that Ingrid Seynhaeve apparently won years earlier. They entered; Elise won it all. Agents from Dominique Models Agency (one of, if not the top agency in Belgium) were in the jury at the contest and offered her a contract then and there. All uphill from there.

That's what I thought, too. I know I've heard her say the Big Mac thing a couple of times. Maybe that's just the story they like to tell.

Hi Your. Yes, I have heard and read many different stories too. Some mentioning the modeling/beauty pagent, some mentioning "discovered on the street by..." and so on. Which I went on a massive research spree attempting to distill the facts from the chaff before posting that. A lot of Dutch reading .

The basis of what I posted was an interview she did with the Belgian web site "College Veurne Online" back in 2002. Used that as the basis because I prefer taking a model's word for how they were discovered as opposed to a third-party in most cases B). I combined what she said there with info on Ingrid and...there you go. One thing I left out: apparently that modeling competition occurred way back in 1999.

As to when she moved to modeling full time and put university on hold I don't have info about. Other info I found noted she was put in contact with Next through Dominique and she that moved from Next to DNA in 2003. Hope that DNA puts up an online press book for her soon .

Id think sending pics are easier, esp if your far away..the weirdest thing to happen when walking to an agency is being asked "what are you here for?" when you walk in...
