buzzfeed.comExclusive: The accessories brand said it has “no plan to work with him in the future.” Richardson has shot at least nine Aldo campaigns since 2010, including Spring/Summer 2014.
Canadian shoe and accessories brand Aldo joined Target and H&M on Thursday in distancing itself from fashion photographer Terry Richardson.
“[We] are not currently working with Terry Richardson and we have no plan to work with him in the future,” Aldo Group PR Director Wendie Godbout told BuzzFeed.
Since at least 2010, Richardson has been accused of coercing models into performing sexual acts during photo shoots. At least 12 women have come forward with allegations — some anonymously — on platforms including Jezebel, Reddit, and BuzzFeed. As recently as March, more stories had emerged of Richardson’s alleged degradation.
Last week, New York magazine published a cover story on Richardson’s past and present, sparking another round of interest in “Uncle Terry” — and inspiring another alleged Richardson victim to come forward on Jezebel.
Richardson has denied these allegations, calling them “vicious and distorted, moving outside the realm of critical dialogue and becoming nothing more than an emotionally-charged witch hunt.” He has never been charged with a crime. He told New York that he was “okay with myself about everything.”
BuzzFeed first reached out to Aldo in April 2014, along with 24 other companies that had recently worked with Richardson. At the time, Aldo did not respond to inquiries.
According to the archive on models.com, Richardson began working with Aldo in 2010. With nine campaigns together, Aldo had become one of Richardson’s biggest advertising clients, behind YSL Beauty (17 campaigns since 2009) and tied with Sergio K and H&M.
Richardson most recently photographed Aldo’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection, with models Eric Ramos, Lindsey Wixson, and Simon Nessman.
Magazines Vogue, T, and W have all made similar distancing comments in recent months.

facebook.com/skyferreira]As someone who has worked very closely with Terry Richardson on many many many occasions since I was 17 years old I would like to say... from my OWN personal experience: I have never been forced or manipulated into anything. I made a music video with him and I have never felt uncomfortable with Terry & had 99 percent of the creative control. This was before I was "famous". Allegations are one thing but completely blaming the director isn't fair aka the Lady Gaga video. It doesn't matter if you want to be a "role model" or not, it's your responsibility to be AWARE of what you're doing. When you're making & selling pop music for 14 year olds that is just a straight up fact. I'm not against/doubting people that have said they've encountered things with him (it's not my place to say so) but the media acting as if Terry Richardson manipulated Lady Gaga into making a video about getting touched by R-Kelly or whatever is a whole other thing. She is 28 year old woman & fully capable/aware of what she was doing. If she wants to do it is HER choice. Whether I agree with it or not. I'm REALLY insulted that my work is somehow getting dragged into this mess (this is the only place I can actually write about this). Terry has only been a supportive & caring friend to me for a long time. I actually find the whole thing upsetting & have for a while. To say I support sexual abuse beyond hurts me. I've experienced it from a very early age until I was 16 years old & have been VERY vocal about it. I am a feminist & work with foundations globally w/ children & women that are victims of sexual abuse. I fight for it every day. To discredit me because I'm friends of someone or my music videos/photos make you feel certain way is YOUR problem. Not mine. Your opinion of someone doesn't make them who they are I am NOT saying the women who have publicly spoken are at fault or wrong or lying. I hope they get help. I'm disgusted that people use others (victims) pain for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ or someway to help themselves climb the ladder of whatever they are trying to get to. The media & the ****ing peanut gallery/trolls on the internet can paint any picture they want of you. They never have the full details. They can manipulate & project an image/persona that benefits them. There are lots of details that we DON'T know about it. There are many reasons & FACTS why I support Terry Richardson that media (basically) refuses to acknowledge. If it were up to the world I would be a racist/heroin addict manufactured robot. Which I'm far from either of those things. Before you judge people off of some article you read off a newspaper or some blog just remember: They are selling you something. The story is to benefit them somehow. It's only half truth. If that.Basically if one more person has the nerve to ask/tell me that I've ****ed Terry Richardson, I will slit their ****ing throat.People fail to mention the 8,000 men he's also shot. I had a topless album cover. So ****ing what? I don't necessarily expect people to understand why I did it or like it. The fact that I still have to explain myself or be publicly shamed every time I speak to a journalist about it EIGHT months later is disturbing. Also, if I was using my "t*ts" to sell anything, my body is worth more than any cash on the entire planet. Not to mention most musicians don't MAKE ANY money off of ****ing sales. There's a lot more damage being done to the world than the female body. Get a grip.
ahahah.Putting the lack of commas to the side for one minute, (...)
Well this is just charming...

It was all beginning to sound argumentative until she snowballs hard towards the middle and somehow I get the sense she's just been feeling awkward and cheap and maybe just wants to let us know that.. hey, she's not.
Even though it sounds more like someone forgot to pour milk on her cereal, let's make an effort : Terry directed one of her videos. He also directed Lady Gaga's video. From her experience he's nice and caring, she felt pretty comfortable aka. she didn't sleep with Terry... therefore she supports Terry, for a variety of reasons the media won't tell, and clearly she won't share either, but she was abused... allegedly (maybe the bakery guy her abusers were always nice to would not agree that they're bad people!), she works with foundations for victims of sexual abuse, so she has the credentials and when she tells us he's a nice dude, you better believe it... she hopes the women that have spoken against him get help, maybe privately so no one's dragged into the mud, abuse is hard enough for one, let's not make it harder for the rest. And what kind of help? we don't know, but as for the people demanding an investigation or being critical, they need to stop being opportunistic peanut gallery climbers. FYI, her topless album cover does not make her less, stop it y'all!
... I forgot power and level of vulnerability isn't related AT ALL to abuse. Whether you're working with a model with no fame, money or connections, a girl that grew up in the heart of Hollywood with a thousand connections, or the president of the US, who's basically the connection, it makes no difference. If Terry didn't ask Obama to blow him, that should be an important reference point, same for the "yet to be famous" Hollywood girl that, of all rising photographers, picked that affordable one called Terry Richardson... who in return agreed to direct her video, seeing no profit in the future whatsoever.
I'd say she leads the pack in internet trolling. Putting the lack of commas to the side for one minute, she was butting her nose in the tweets of Kurt Cobain's daughter to Lana Del Rey two days before, which she managed to turn into her battle. One can't help to look at what she does for a living and wonder why doesn't she focus harder on that... considering her calls for attention through issues that are clearly beyond her are kind of slippery territory..
While some commercial and editorial clients are distancing themselves from Terry Richardson, others are celebrating their relationship with the photographer-slash-sexual harasser. Playboy magazine plans to release a 100-page special issue shot by their "great partner" Richardson called California Dreamin' in February of next year.
On Friday, Richardson teased a tease of the spread in Playboy's July/August 2014 issue on his blog, which says it's supposed to come out in September. When asked for details about the issue, a spokeswoman emailed Jezebel the following:
Yes, Terry has shot for the magazine many times over the years, and has been a great partner. His latest collaboration with Playboy is a 100-page special edition of the magazine titled California Dreamin' in which he photographed four Playmates in a variety of iconic California locations from Joshua Tree to the Chateau Marmont. This special edition is actually set to hit newsstands around Valentine's Day 2015. Playboy's July/August 2014 issue (on newsstands now) features a 6-page preview of California Dreamin', and the magazine plans to run additional previews of California Dreamin' in its December 2014 and January/February 2015 issues. When asked why the issue would no longer be released in September, the spokeswoman said that the production schedule had changed. "We are releasing our annual Playmate calendar in September, and have a few additional projects in the pipeline which are scheduled for release around the same time. Instead of competing with ourselves on the newsstands, we decided to push publication of California Dreamin' to early 2015."
A request for comment about the choice to pursue this partnership with Richardson at this particular moment – especially given the recent decisions by some of Richardson's clients not to work with him – was not answered.
Playboy has worked with Richardson before; he most recently shot the 2014 Diesel calendar that came with their Kate Moss 60th anniversary issue, posting behind the scenes photos of their offices on his blog from that shoot last August. He was also responsible for a 2009 cover of the magazine.
In a blurb in the July/August issue, Richardson is described as a "legendary fashion photographer":
Terry Richardson has photographed hundreds of the world's most beautiful women (Kate Upton, Rihanna and Miley Cyrus among them). And now you can add Playmates Audrey Aleen Allen, Alyssa Arce, Pamela Horton and Jaclyn Swedberg to that lovely list. Here's an exclusive preview of our upcoming special edition of California Dreamin', in which we turn Richardson and the Playmates loose in iconic southern California locations, from Joshua Tree to the Chateau Marmont. The results are by turns sub-dappled, sassy, langurous and, most of all, revealing in the very best way. Look for the complete 100-page special edition on newsstands in all its dreamy glory starting September 2.
