Terry Richardson - Photographer

^of course. i was afraid some images wouldn't be appropriate for this forum. you should probably delete them to keep the thread 'clean' :nuke:

thanks for trying to keep things tasteful here guys...
though with mr richardson i know it's not easy...
..

I love Terry Richardson.

But it is incredibly akward having to explain to my parents that "it's art, HONEST!" when they raise their eyebrows at some of his pictures on my wall.

Sorry, I don't like that last editorial---there's ten of those in a bunch.Nothing special.

Seeing a "male's DNA" (as a previous poster put it) does not necessarily mean its p*rn. Rankin does it, others do it as well. There is much fine art out there featuring nudity. Those who claim that "all fashion sexuality must be suggested instead of shown for it not to be p*rn" are usually cultural conservatives.

Of course, how you compose a picture affects its artistic merits. Terry Richardson often crosses (or comes close to crossing) the line between artistic nudity and "true" p*rn. Except in all ad campaigns I've seen done by him, which often are "raunchy" but really aren't p*rn.

What gets me personally about Richardson is his continual use of a 35mm auto-focus pocket camera :D. In a Fashion Television interview, he makes the comment that he does this "to show that anyone can do this". Whether its an indication of his technical photographic skill or not is the real question.

Anyway, he does do some impressive ad campaigns. And I'm sure the Richardson family name has opened several doors for him in the fashion industry. Just hope we can eventually see some work from him using a real camera some day ;).

I'm sorry but seeing someone else jizz is not needed to make a point. I'm sorry but there are other ways to express your then just release yourself of someone's face.

it`s his personal technic
red lights in eyes etc he uses 35 mm

i don't love a lot of terry's more graphic stuff but I think the flair pics that ilvmags posted are nice, and I like that he is not afraid to be unconventional...

I like that his photographs of celebrities carry that unconventional feeling and it makes them seem more edgy

What I also like is that his work elicits such strong views/opinions from so many people...
this thread is certainly evidence of that..
this thread has so many more posts of commentary than pictures and it is nice to see something that challenges the way we see and perceive things and causes a strong reaction

some more...hope not a repost
