The 4-5 piece French wardrobe #7

I share you feelings about shopping. That's why I never go to the stores in my country, just while traveling. And London is the best for it, so much diversity and choices. I know exactly where my preferred stores are and usually go strictly there. I always check the stock on the web in advance or even make a click & collect order. It's so much more comfortable than running from store to store whole day, and there are so many better ways to spend the time there.

I recently bought a really nice Y.A.S sweater (don't have any experiences with this brand, but design and material got me) and MANGO wool trousers. I am in the grey zone currently, but didn't have any grey trousers at all. Speaking of grey bottoms, I just have a wool full-skirt. Plus I really needed additional wool trousers (black ones still on the WL). I already wore both things (together) and felt really good in it. I went a size down with trousers, because I lost some weight recently and was unsure about it, but the fit is perfect. They are also almost 10 cm longer than their trousers usually are, so this isn't a problem.
On top of that, my mother wanted to order a rose gold DNKY watch I had my eye on for my upcoming birthday, yay! :magic: Can't wait to receive it, I really love it. I wanted a rose gold watch for a really long time and then finally found this one, which is just right. The website is also offering free bracelet strap adjustment and I took advantage of it.

^ Love rose gold, and the color block sweater is great! It reminds me a bit of one on my wishlist that is three shades of grey. I don't recall whether it's carried locally, but hopefully I can see it somewhere this weekend ... I also have some navy pants on my wishlist, and I was thinking grey would be good with them ...

For me the same! ^_^ I love to shop online, much more orderly than shopping in a real store. The ideal situation is I spot something online and there is a shop near by so I can try it in store or the shipping costs are very low or free shipping. Imo there is much more online available than in store and more and more websites ship internationally. I hope in the near future everything is free shipping! :D The drawback is you can't feel the fabric for quality etc.

That watch is beautiful Jinadaze.

I don't even know what petite is! :P

:P

Those child sized clothes in the grown up shop are petite sizes:wink:

I am going to start looking for basic tees in the child section. Short enough, plain and inexpensive:smile:

I have a lot of procrastinating to do, so I figured I would do an update on my current wishlist. Most of the items I won't need until spring.

#1 Black Turleneck:
I ordered the oversized turtleneck today:magic: I am so looking forward to recieving it! It has been ages since I was willing to pay duty fees for something. This is very new for me:P

#2 Silk Scarf:
I have a new love in my life... I have realizes I am not a fan of jewlery (except rings), so I depend on scarves to accersorize my outfits. Given how much people spend on necklaces (cough, Betina) and watches (cough, jinadaze) then I can buy expensive scarves that have no practical function, right? Thats what I am trying to convince myself... It is so silly, because I would have no problem spending the 110 GBP the scarf costs if it was a piece of jewlery, but I somehow find it tough to spend that much on a small scarf...

Before I make arrangements to buy this scarf (no way am I paying the customs fee twice in one month) I wanted to ask if any of you guys have come across something similar? I have no problem with pre-loved items.

When I bought the other two scarves I bought this spring (which cost about 15 GBP a piece), I was looking for a scarf just like this. I have been all over the intenett and I have not found anything similar to a better price myself.

It looks like this on (don't worry, I am not suffering from the disillusion that the scarf will turn me into Kate Moss:D:(

#3 Black Blazer:
I am still undecided regarding what kind of jacket I want. I know it needs to be black, but it could be leather/linen/velvet or wool. I found one I liked online, but it was sold out. The sleeves looked short enough, the fabric coarse enough (i don't want a corporate look) and it looked nice overall.

If anyone sees something similar, please let me know:smile:

Betina: Any luck with your blazer hunt? Whenever I find something that I want to recommend to you, they only have big sizes left...

#4 Porselli flats:
I might buy these before christmas. My grandma can bring them back from spain!:D

#5 White T-shirt V-neck:
I have had zero luck finding a tee that is even close to acceptable that I am considering just going into Acne and spend what is (on my budget) a silly amount of money on a basic white tee. I have one in charcoal, and it is the thickes tee I own, and it is available in my town. If I spill something the first day I wear it I will throw a fit though.

Long post, but like I said, I have a lot of other stuff to do that I don't want to do:innocent:

^ Maybe your next trip to London is the perfect time to look for a black jacket ...

Today I went antiquing and one of the things I got was a pair of vintage red leather driving gloves with random perforation. They're Italian. The price was very reasonable, and they should be fun ... they are also not so ancient that they're fragile. 80s or 90s, I think ... There was also a bright green pair in the same size, but they fit tighter, so I didn't get them.

I spent what I thought was too much on my last white tee, and haven't regretted it. After awhile it becomes not worth your while to look for something cheaper ... and it's Acne, not Oscar de la Renta or something ...

PS Ssshhh on the wearing the same item as a celebrity not making you like them ... yelling that around tFS is like telling small children there's no Santa Claus

Haha:lol: I have the same balenciaga bag as Kim Kardashian so I need to believe this is not true!

I just recieved my oversized knit, and it is REALLY thick and VERY big. I am so happy I ordered the XXS... Any bigger and it would looked like a dress on me:P It feels like a piece I will have for a very long time. I need to remember that when I recieve the bill from DHL. I have heard some horror stories about what they charge in fees for doing paper work:blink:

Any pics? I'm curious.
An order from Canada is with the neighbours atm, so I haven't have to pay custom duties and tax, yay! :stuart: Don't tell anyone! :zorro:

It is the same sweater I talked about here: http://forums.thefashionspot.com/showpost.php?p=12830251&postcount=486

I don't know what the blogger did to make the collar stand up like that. I am thinking it is a very strained pose (who would have thought, right:brows:), because my collar is very relaxed.

I don't have a picture of mine unfortunately. Even when it is light outside there is not enough light to take good pictures:rolleyes:

What do you mean it is with the neighbours? Do you have "neighbours" in Canada? I mean, I grew up in the countryside and I had "neighbours" who lived several miles away, but Canada would be a stretch...

Ah nice, very nice!!!
No no , I wasn't at home when they wanted to deliver the package from Canada, so they left it with the neighbours a couple of metres from my home ^_^, but I can see the package behind their window but they are not at home atm.

I was on the hunt for some pretty rose gold earrings for quite a while and the ones I wanted were unavailable by now. I came across this pair today and fell in love instantly, so I made an order. They have been on sale (50 % off) and I also got a voucher AND reward points to spend (the watch has been ordered on the same website) so I payed just 29 € for them, they were meant to be mine. A great bargain, I would say. ^_^

^Ah, black friday, right? The earrings look lovely. I think the black pearl works really well with the rose gold.

I totally forgot about black friday (it is not a thing here) and my sweater went on sale 2 days after I ordered it:rolleyes: Thank God it was only 10% or I would have had to kick myself. Hard.

yoox

Oh, those are really pretty, Jinadaze  Pretty sure all of my black pearls are set in yellow gold, but rose gold is always better!

I took advantage of Yoox' extra 20% off for Thanksgiving weekend and got these for a nice price (they are Lanvin). They are summer-weight, but I wear summer trousers year round. I may count these toward spring, depends how my shopping expedition this weekend goes

PS Just discovered the wear I'd noticed on my favorite denim trousers has now developed into a full-blown hole :( So they are history ... maybe I'll be able to find a replacement tomorrow.

The quality on those was less than stellar. They weren't expensive, but I have other trousers I've paid less than $100 for that are still with me. I believe they lasted just under a year ... OTOH, I wore them a lot.

^I think jeans might have "souls". How else can they have so much personality. You buy two pair of jeans from the same brand, and chances are (imo) that one will die within the year while the other ages beautifully:rolleyes:

Are they the jeans from loft?

I wouldn't mind the luxury of being able to wear "summer-trousers" all year round. Ankle cropped anything looks pretty silly when there is ice on the ground. Thats what everyone else tells me anyway:innocent:

^ They are the Nordstrom store brand ones--Halogen (I have them pinned on my closet board). I bought them only 6 items ago, last winter

I think ankle length looks just fine in any weather  I just wear tights underneath. Much longer, and you risk a rim of snow on them ... and that is just not cute.

^Ah, thats the pair I was thinking of. Don't know why they were from Loft in my head. Makes so much more sense that your jeans are from Nordstom:wink:

nordstrom

Had a successful shopping expedition today ... and the sweaters and jeans had just been marked down from full price, 40% off :woot:

Couple pairs of flannel PJs (a current pair has a tear and will bite the dust here at some point ... it's still small enough that I can pretend it's invisible to everyone but me :P), pair of fuzzy socks with a little polar bear face, black jeans, black cashmere sweater with buttons down the side, black/ivory intarsia sweater, and a grey faux wrap top for layering. This was pricey but I thought worth it as the neckline is completely customizable ... the 'wrap' and the ruching stay put just as you arrange them. It didn't come in any other colors (just a couple ugly prints) or I would've been tempted. We have a MaxMara boutique here, so I may look there next year. The SA said they had black last year, so perhaps they'll produce it next year as well.

I'm counting the jeans and the trousers I ordered earlier this weekend (assuming they work) toward spring.

Oh, the other nice thing was they had while-you-wait tailoring today, so I didn't have to make a trip back to pick up the hemmed jeans--really nice.
