For those who have read The Virgin Suicides, what did you think about it? I don't know if I should read it or not (I'm a big fan of the film).

It's been some time since I last read it but I remember loving it! As far as I can recall it's a little different than the film but every bit as good.

Yeah, I agree. I started Bave New World a few time but always stopped after a few chapters. But this time I went further and I love it for the moment!

You should read it, the movie is great and it does justice to the book. I saw the movie first and then read the book and I wasn't dissapointed.

so far this year, i've read 4 books:

4. Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy Series) - Richelle Mead

and i'm halfway through my 5th book, which is Last Sacrifice, also from Vamp Academy series.. it's the last book in the series. hope i can finish it soon..
i'm going to set my goal for 50 books.. the only problem with that for me is buying those books.. haha. english books aren't cheap in my country.. although the price is almost the same as in US, but the living cost here are much cheaper.. so yeah.... but since i really want to reach my goal, i'm gonna save money from now for books

1. Apathy -- and Other Small Victories by Paul Neilan. This is a 5/5 book by my standards. But it won't be for everyone. I'm always on the lookout for funny books and this is literally one of the funniest, if not the funniest book I've ever read. I actually laugh out loud reading it. But keep in mind that the humour is very sarcastic, sometimes quite dark, quite politically incorrect. It's very over the top, deadpan, exaggerated humour. I'd describe it as something like The Big Lebowski put in a very wrong blender This is a book I've re-read somewhere between 5 and 10 times. It's a short easy read.

i'm also still on my first book, between work and uni i can only read on my train-rides and even then i'm too tired sometimes

does anyone know a veeery easy book in Spanish? i just learned the first past tense, so it could be written in present and preteritum...is there some nice children's book maybe? i looked at the Spanish versions of the Potter books, but they are still way too hard, i need simple, easy Spanish and short sentences.

I too preferred the Kite Runner, but ATSS was absolutely beautiful. It solidified my love for Khaled Hosseini's writing... I can't wait to read whatever he releases in the future
