The Acne Thread #3

¨¨¨^Yeah finally I followed my instinct and felt like I did not need to pull all that hormones crap in my body and now I feel so much better
If I think of a nightmare that would be to be back on the pill seriously I will never mess with that again
My face was bloated with micro cyst someday I did not even want to wash my face :(

^I've tried it, it was ok but nothing spectacular. I didn't re-purchased it and didn't compete with Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion which I've bought almost 5-6 times in the past 5 years :flower:

every time i drink coffee I get cystic pimples? Anyone else have this problem?
:\

Hey
Um,
I don't know whether this is helpful or not but I've been chatting to a representative of Model's 1 by email and I have some info that is great for all the girls with non ideal skin. If you want to be a model and you walked into an open call with spotty skin, they wouldn't turn you away because of a few spots and imperfections. They'd look past your imperfections and would hire you depending on whether you suit their criteria.

So much for a model to have "perfect" skin.

 Good news for me!

^OF COURSE thats not an issue
No one would be workin in n this industry if they had to come & be perfect :D

Many models don't have perfect skin if you look close enough in the un photoshopped close ups!
Although some do (ie: melissa t!)

drink carrot juice and using it as a face mask are great, drinking green tea and water are really good and Asprin masks are good to

To people who are talking about the pill giving pimples. Try different pills until you find one thats right for you. Ortho Tri cyclen is "THE" acne birth control but I hear Yaz/Yasmin are amazing too (although they have a lawsuit against them right now...)

Guys, have looked through the thread briefly (if I missed anything similar to my comment - apologies!)

Now, what you need to do...

FOR 1 MONTH (this is the minimum time period your skin needs to recover)
* avoid alcohol, soft drinks, anything containing caffeine
* drink 3-5 cups of green tea or white green tea (yes, it does contain caffeine, but less of it and it's also full of antioxidants). You can also drink 1-2 cups of fennel, mint or chamomile tea. If you fancy tea, go for redbush, it's delicious and caffeine free.
* drink 2 litres of fresh water daily
* start your day with a glass of water with a slice of fresh lemon in it (helps detoxification)
* avoid all refined carbs (white rice, white potatoes, white flour, sugar and anything containing sugar)
* have rye bread, brown rice, quinoa and oats/plain oatcakes for good carbs and fibre
* add 1tbsp ground flaxseed / linseed daily for good fats and fibre, always follow with a glass of water. Mix flax into yoghurt, it's easier to eat it this way.

This sounds amazing! I'm so going to try this. Most of it shouldn't be too hard for me (like eating salad every day, not eating candy) but I have a few questions!

1. I'm a vegetarian. Can I replace meat/fish with i.e. tofu? I usually just marinate plain tofu with a little bit of olive oil, a little bit of mustard & salt & pepper.

2. Is black tea, such as earl grey, allowed? I LOVE tea, especially iced black tea (with no sugar or anything, just plain tea & ice cubes).

The kind I had was deep under the skin nothing was working on it no cream no lotion NOTHING oh my god it was hurting so much
And now its been almost 2 years Im off the pill I never felt better my skin is back to normal

I'm having issues with my skin right now...it's depressing. The Dr. gave me antibiotics, retin-a, BP wash, sulfur lotion. and my skin is still horrible. I know it takes time but I still have the same 5 pimples for a week now.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

You went to see a dermatologist or just a doctor ?
You should get an appointment with the dermatologist so he can give you a skin cleaning I used to do that with my dm every 2 weeks it usually works amazing
If nothing works out for you you need to get blood tested to see if it is hormonal issues and then they usually put you on the pill

Here's my issue, at the present time my skin is always clear. Except before my period I'll get 1-2 large cystic acne that I often end up popping then for a scab which will fall off. This process usually takes 1 week and then my life s*** for one week each month!

Anyone has the same issue.....? I don't have acne creams at home, all I do to quicken the healing process is dabbing either the Clinique Acne mask or Clinique Emergency mask on the popped spot? When it dries out to the max and the scab falls off, I am left with some discoloration lasting a week or so.

i don't know if it was posted on this thread but i swear this machine works and NO i do not work for this company

nubrilliance! my friend from the states recommended i buy it she bought it from TV and i was so skeptical because its all crap on TV infomercials! but i checked in sephora and they had it- its a microdermbrasion at home machine it is AMAZING i saw difference in a day of use- all the gunk came out of my poors! so worth the money!

i recently watched a beauty segment from a talk show and they just made the connection that the more gentle you are to your skin the better it'll be. i also got sick around the same time and didnt wash my face for a day. my skin didnt break out but just dry.

i decided i was going to clean my face only once a day. its working well so far and it makes sense to not "clean" your skin when you don't have to.

cleaning your skin at night and then cleaning it again in the morning doesn't make sense. your skin could not have gotten that dirty over night in your bed.

^so agree.
I don't wash my face in the morning and it looks much better (but still sucks! haha).
The green tea helps me also. I stopped drinking it for a week and a half and I see huge change on my face so I'm starting now again.
Has any one got a recommendation for a good light moisturizer? I'm so scared to try new things and my moisturizer that I used to use is GONE!!!! I need your help guys. :(
