The Acne Thread

^Its a blackhead that is under the skin. So basically a clogged pore. It looks like a tiny white dot on your skin. Again, very very similar to a blackhead

Effective Acne Treatment

Zeno clears pimples in people with mild to moderate acne. It is a hand-held, portable electronic medical device that is clinically proven to make pimples disappear fast. Zeno is the most scientifically advanced and effective acne device available without a prescription.

The proprietary Zeno technology triggers a heat shock response in microorganisms that cause skin lesions, bringing about the self-destruction of those bacteria and allowing the skin to return to a healthy, normal state. In the case of acne, the P. acnes bacterium is the root cause of 90% of all acne pimples.

Zeno™ is a simple electronic product designed to safely heat an acne lesion to a pre-set temperature range known to generate heat shock response. Heat shock response is a reaction bacteria have to heat whereby they transcript a number of genes and activate heat-shock proteins. These heat-shock proteins participate in the bacteria's death by causing the bacteria to self-destruct.

Zeno Treatment

Pimples occur when excess skin oil and flaking skin plug the opening of a hair follicle and create the ideal environment for acne bacteria to grow. Precisely controlled heat applied for a specific period of time causes the bacteria to self-destruct. When the bacteria die, the pimple goes away.

Zeno applies a precisely controlled heat dose directly to the pimple through a metal pad. Learn about thermal treatment of acne pimples. Lean about acne and pimples.

Safe, painless, and effective acne treatment

Zeno can clear up a pimple in just hours. Two to three 2½-minute treatments spread over 24 hours are sufficient for most pimples. Often, only one treatment is needed. Most other medications can take days or even weeks to work.

Patients included in our clinical trials experienced little reaction to the low-level heat. Other than some temporary skin redness following a treatment cycle, no other adverse side effects were reported.

^ I'm not convinced. It gets rid of a spot in 2 hours?! Seems a little too good to be true.

It also seems a bit harsh just for mild/moderate acne - especially when anti-biotics are available as well as products such as Proactiv.

A spot takes a few weeks to develop, so I'm one of those who firmly does not believe you can get rid of it in that short of a time.

Has anyone here tried it? I'm curious to know what its like

Help with PORE!

I am having trouble with a stuborn pore. Yes, ONE pore. Maybe somebody can help me...

Back in July I tried a product that made me break out, so after 2 weeks I stopped using the product. While I was breaking out from using it, I got a big blackhead on my cheek (close to my nose). I figured it would just go away or whatever. It didn't, so of course impatient me squeezed and picked at it. That didn't work, I figured it must have been really deep or something. Since then I have tried everything I can think of: leaving it alone, trying to extract it with an extractor, deep spa facial, at home facial, store bought acne/zit spot cream, perscription acne/spot gel, cortisone cream........ yet, this evil dialated pore still persists!! A few weeks ago I squeezed it again and a thick, white substance came out :/ Today I squeezed it, again, and clear fluid came out...

I know ONE pore shouldn't require a costly trip to the dermatologist. I figured somebody here might be able to help me out, if anyone is still reading

How do I tighten this lone, dialted pore?

BTW, the product that made me breakout was Cellex-C Serum... I heard other people have broken out from it before... just a warning :D

that Zeno thing is listed on style.com as one of the top 5 new beauty gadgets!
which suddenly makes it seem more promising. hmm

I definitely agree with the leaving it alone idea. I know how unbelievably hard it can be, but you have to try. I would also suggest applying a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel or cream on it every single night. You can even wear it under makeup if you want to double it's effectiveness. This will kill the bacteria but you should probably do it for a least a couple weeks to make sure all the bacteria is disinfected. HTH's

question.. If I were to go to a dermatologist what is like the best medication with the least side effects? I'm tired of using a little bit of everything I'd rather downsize it if I can! :D Oh and if you can list the price range for the product (just in the ballpark is fine)

I'm on Minocycline (200mg)... I don't have any side effects whatsoever.^_^

They'll most likely give you Minocycline for a course of a couple of months. Although this stuff didn't work for me, loads of people think its great and it has no side effects (well, I didn't have any)

I have no idea about costs, because I live in England so everything is free... sorry.

However if you have bad skin, I'd suggest paying it anyway. The skin is one of the most important and largest organs you have - you want it to be healthy

not bad I'm just tired of stressin out about it all the time.. The lady who does my facials said I have very pretty skin and if I didn't have breakouts it would be really pretty. I'm going to ask my mom about going to the dermatologist (I keep back down...but I mean I'll pay for everything^_^ )

You dont have to go specifically to a dermotologist. My regular doctor gives me perscriptions for all my skin stuff.
