The Acne Thread

I would try using treatments with salicylic acid in them. It may cause your skin to dry, but as long as you are moisturizing well, then it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Also, if you DO exfoliate with scrubs, try cutting it down to only once a week or even not at all. Exfoliatation with scrubs can actually aggravate the acne and cause it to worsen. Depending on your location, i would recommend either Persagel from Clean & Clear, it's POTENT benzoyl peroxide, or phisoderm which contains salicylic acid.

Hope that helps! Keep us updated!

hello. just want to ask if the is any beauty oil in the market to treat the occasional blemishes and whiteheads? other than tea tree oil that is. i read somewhere that a cosmetic brand has a blemish fighter which is oil but i forgot which brand it was. trying not to use stuff like salicylic acid and benzoylperoxide because its drying and it only makes my skin oilier.

Using Shu cleansing oil...its unbelievable!!! Love it!!!

Thanks in advance!!!

I'm not sure if it is good to put oil on already oily skin??

it's actually perfectly fine. Using a drying agent will only dry your skin and therefore, you skin will produce more oil to compensate and make up for the loss of it. But using oil to get rid of zits is like getting back to basics, if you will. Dabbing oil <whichever blemish fighter it is> on it is suppose to be better.<so i read> Apparently its easier for the oil to target under the skin and at the source compared to a drying agent which targets the surface.

and its very affordable, about $12us dollars. im notsure what that is for you?

cool thanks!

I started using Philosphy's "On a Clear Day" kit (acne kit) and I really like it so far! It doesn't dry out my skin or make it feel real tight but I still feel like my skin is getting a good cleaning. I also asked for a sample of "The Greatest Love" and "Purity Made Simple".. I love "The Greatest Love" but I haven't tried my "Purity Made Simple" sample yet. Oh yes Sephora is where I bought it, but it's available on either one of these websites as well....

:woot: :woot: I owe you guys my life back  Thanks to this thread, I've been doing the ACV and asprin mask and it has done wonders!! I've always had acne but the harsher the products, the worse my skin gets. So, I've been using Orgins Checks and Balances face wash, ACV, then spot treatment with either the asprin mask or Orgins Spot Remover, then moisturize with Dove.
I think the ACV and asprin (with a tad of witch hazel) has really done the trick though. Thanks so much for the info, now I don't have to dread meeting new people or going to the gym without make up! x a billion!

^ woo! Congratulations! :D :flower:
i find everyone on this thread very helpful too.

Just wondering....is there an official name for pimples/left over pimples that remain for longer than 4 months? I think it might be a blackhead as right in the middle of the pimple I see a very faint black dot....

I think they're usually refered to as blemishes..

Not easily unfortunately. Most however, do fade over time..anywhere from a couple days to a couple months..

Some people say that peels and masks aid. I've never tried that personally, but I guess it's worth a shot. I usually just apply some Persa-gell from clean and clear, and it's gone within a week.

I just got Clinique "anti blemish solutions - post blemish formula"....hope it's gonna get rid of those red marks :o. Clinique is really great in my opinion, so hope this will be as well.

just curious..how doesthe actual asprin procedure work? like the recipe and the process...as in how long should u leave it on the blemishes and so on?..

^^go to makeupalley.com or healthboards.com to see other peoples success storis/products reviews and what procedures worked for them:wink::wink:
