I wish Cetaphil worked for me. Please keep us updated on how it works for you.
The main problem I am having with my skin at the moment is red skin congestion/blocked pores and nasty whiteheads
After a few skin scans they assessed the problem areas (which indicated where most oil was being produced) and suggested a few products that will really deeply cleanse my skin...Apparently the current skin care I'm using is only working at surface level, and not really working to control the oil from underneath the skin...

Aspect

I hate facials I had one last year .. and it scarred me and I was red for 4 days . ..![]()

My skin is really hyper-sensitive at the moment, so a harsh treatment is definitely not a good idea...
I've tried lots of drugstore acne products and none of them helped. So I got tired of wasting money and finally went to a derm, who prescribed me benzoyl peroxide creams. All of those burned and dried up my skin (and I only put them on for 5 hours a day). So then she let me try Clindet pledges (clindamyacin), which worked really well for about a year. But a few months ago I guess my skin developed resistance and the pledges no longer worked.
So basically I got fed up in general of putting chemicals on my face and decided to go gentle and natural on my face. Since then my skincare regimen consists only of:
L'occitane Shea Butter and Cotton Cleansing Milk
Lush Celestial Moisturizer
St. Ives Apricot Scrub 2x or so a week.
Makeup remover when needed
My skin is clear save for spots left over from old acne and tiny pimples that I get once in a while. I'm not saying the "abolish all acne products" way is for everyone, but if you have sensitive/dry skin then perhaps all the chemicals are doing more harm than good. Hope this helps.![]()
I have to agree. since I stopped using all of those chemical products my skin is a lot better. although it took a long time to recover from all those treatments and it's still not perfect. I get pimples quite often still, but it's way better than when I put all kinds of creams on it...
For red spots, lemon juice is a working like a dream! It dries/clears up the area overnight! I'd like to thank those who had suggested it
