Yeah, don't bother with that stuff.

I'm naturally white blonde, and I went to Hawaii for two weeks and mixed lemon juice and chilled chamomile tea up and lay in the sun for a few hours a day and it got significantly lighter, even though my hair was basically already as light as it comes.

But if you have to use a shampoo, Lush's Marilyn is essentially made of just that and smells yummy.

Thank you both! I think I will try to make up my own concoction - safer and cheaper. I like the idea of camomile alot :-)

Does anyone use shampoo for blondes? I just wondered if it actually makes any difference to overall tones? I have long blonde hair that sometimes feels quite dry - I use a home colour, but my hairdresser always says it is in good condition for the length of it and the colour.

Im currently using Aveda Rosemary and Mint shampoo and conditioner but I sometimes find my hair is not shiny enough! Any suggestions? :flower:

I use John Frieda. Works pretty well I think. I think Kerastase is splendid as well!

I used a shampoo for blondes a few weeks and I'm not happy with it. The only effect is that my hair is dry and feels sick.
It's the same with, I want my hair to be more shiny!

i've been blonde since februar now where i did prelight my hair for it was very dark and anything. so it's pretty okay now, just some strands are in a light brown and not blonde and the hairdresser i went to meant she can't put color all over my hair because of these strands and she did highlights. okay looks great but normaly i dye my hair myself and i don't want to go to the hairdresser every so often to get highlights....do you have any recommendations for me? can i just dye over the highlights in some weeks, sure the color won't be all the same than and lighter there where the highlights are now, that'd be okay for me......but i dunno what to do, the dark strands are mainly at the ends of my hair so they will grow out, no prob with that.....

i just tried bleaching my hair myself
BAD IDEA
I look p*rn star cheap
So not my look
I am ringing the salon first thing tomorrow morning in an attempt to undo this:angry:

On a side note claudia schiffer has the most wonderful blonde hair

ooo yeah that hair is nice and luxourious looking. My story is similar to others on here. Blonde as a kid then hair went naturally darker. When i was around 14 I decided to dye my hair blonde myself: big mistake, it turned out orange:sick:. Then last year I dyed it dark brown, almost black, and it actually looked really nice. I liked being dark because my dark blue eyes stood out much more and i felt more exotic looking:D! Alas, i got sick and tired of the smell of the dye, always having to scrub my face and neck because no matter how careful i was i always ended up with dark stains on me afterwards, having to darken my eyebrows and also the vibrancy of the colour faded so quickly to a dull brown. At the mo my hair is a crappy brown colour with my lighter roots showing. I'm going to go back to blonde and get it done by a professional! I think i'll go for full head highlights, ideally a cool light blonde rather than warmer tones. Can't wait for the trip to the salon:woot:

i would love my hair blonde but the thing is it that my skin is too faire so im not gonna dye it :(

I've never tried this as im not blonde but i hear Lushes Marlyin hair moisturiser in pretty good at making hair shiny and soft, heres a link for more info on it http://www.lush.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=20_22&products_id=186

Yay for us blondes! Let's take over...
My hair is extreamly light and I can't find a really good delicate conditioner...
Recommend one?

My hair is naturally a light ash blonde (but currently a pearly-white colour), I have fair skin that goes very dark in summer, and blue eyes. I used to dye my hair black but I love my blonde too much to even consider going any darker than a level 8 and even that's a scary thought! My hair is also really fine and is a pain in the bum to look after for that reason. I like using a blonde shampoo every other wash to bring out highlights/tone any golden bits, and a moisturising shampoo other times. As for conditioners, Redken All Soft range is ok, but I really like MooGoo conditioner (I think you can only get it here in Australia though).

Woww! What a beautiful color!!! Is it only highlights on your natural color? or all-over color with highlights?

yes, its only highlights on my natural color! aww and thanks! thats so nice of you to say

I am not blonde, but I think beige, brown, sand and gold colours look very good on blondes

thanks for reply!
Another question: how often do you retouch the roots? and do you use any toner between applications? or that gorgeous color lasts until the next visit to salon?

LeonieAlexandria your hair looks gorgeous!

My natural hair is black and I bleach it. Actually my mom does it. I guess I've been lucky because it's still healthy and I love the color, it looks exactly like Claudia Schiffer's hair, like in post #65, same color, same hair cut, same texture and length. I take good care of it. Only problem is my hair grows too fast and if I wait for four weeks to retouch the roots I end up with more than an inch of black roots, so I can't wait that long. Also lately I've been developing some sort of allergy towards the bleach itself :(, nothing too severe, but if it gets more severe I will have to stop bleaching, at least for a while, and consider a dark blonde with highlights instead. I'm thinking dark ash blonde with very light ash blonde highlights .

^ that sounds like a good idea :flower: and thanks for the compliment

Geraldine, here's what I do.

I go to the hairdresser every 3 months for colour, every 5 months for cut ( I know most people say thats not often enough, esp. because my hair is thick and long but I use good products for the endings!)
and that's enough for me. Most important is that you use a very good mask or conditioner ( if you've dry hair like me ). There are many that bring out the colour nicely too. Just ask the hairdresser. I dont have very dark roots, my hair is naturally dirty blonde so it's ok. If it bothers me alot I'll wear a headband or sunglasses in my hair or a ponytail.
