Can you post a picture of your hair?

I will as soon as my sister comes home and I can borrow her camera. I might just go back to the salon on Saturday and ask my stylist if she can just put some sort of all-over color on that will tone down the extreme highlights and help them to blend with the brown. They're a very cool blonde at this point, and it completely washes me out. I should have gone warmer---I look.. ill.

I hope this is the right trend, but I have this sudden urge to dye my hair a shade of blonde! just been through so much in the past few months, good and bad; I jus really want a complete change! my hair is pretty long and curly too; are there any salons in the Uk you guys can recommend? esp in London?

Blonde Shampoo

I've been dying my hair blonder and blonder lately. I love my hairdresser but this time I've noticed it's has some yellow tones in it. Do any blondes out there use the 'purple' blonde shampoo to combat this problem? Does it really get rid of the yellow or just prevent it? What brands are you using?

I've had good luck with Aveda Blue Malva Colour Conditioner. I've found that it does a pretty good job getting rid of brassy tones as well as preventing them.

I may have to give that Matrix shampoo a try - I hate when I get brassy tones in my hair and am always looking for new products! Is it moisturizing? I don't use the Aveda Blue Malva shampoo because I don't think it's moisturizing enough.

What kind of at-home color treatment do you guys recommend for maintaining blonde shades? At the moment, I have slightly darker roots and would like to touch them up a bit, but in general, I want all-over color to blend highlights and lowlights. A sunnier tone might be nice, also. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!

But I have been to the hairdressers and had my hair a lot lighter blonde than above, as Spring is coming and because I used Castings so-called 'Radiant Blonde' and it made it look dull...ugh! Do not use this.

I ended up picking up AG So silver toning shampoo. The reason I went with it was because it's really strong. So strong it is only really to be used 3 times a week. The substance looks opaque and its a BRIGHT purple. Since purple is opposite of yellow on the colour wheel its doing the trick! There were some other everyday shampoos I could have purchased for blondes but I was drawn to this one because of its potency. It's already working and I've used it twice!

I hate that my hair grows out darker in the winter. I have to lighten the top But it does give my hair this nice golden colour... Actually, I've lightened my hair (using blonde spray, anyone know it?) for so long that I don't know my natural haircolour

It would be difficult to tell if this new shampoo is helping with moisture because of the other products Im using to make sure my hair stays looking healthy. I use Pantene Pro V Restoratives Breakage Defense conditioner. I've been criticized by a friend for even using Pantene Pro V since its not going to offer the same thing as a high end salon conditioner but I find it to do the trick. But what I DO use that I consider high end salon product is Sebastians Potion 9. maybe youve heard of it? Its a leave in conditioner that I use 3 times a week. I put it in when my hair is damp focusing on the ends and you need to use only about a nickel sized amount. Its makes a world of a difference. This is more on the styling end of things BUT I also use....a straightner everyday....so....I use Kerastase Oleo Relax Serum to smooth out my ends and any flyaways. It does make my hair look alot healthier, rather than the dry straightened look. A good alternative to Kerastase since its not always readily available and kind of overpriced is Pantene Pro V's Always Smooth Anti-Frizz Serum. Same idea but like a third of the price at Walmart.

The best way to healthy hair is a good hairdresser! I was once overbleached by a hairdresser who I insisted take me from black to blonde (partly my fault!) and to revive my KILLED hair I used K-Pak. I can't remember what it was called exactly but it was a deep conditioning treatment that I would put on and leave on for hours! and then rinse out. If your hair is ever ultra damaged (which it doesnt sound like it is...) this is your fix!

Oh yay the blonde thread!! Lol. I have been blonde straight through (as in haven't changed it) since I was 17. I call my color "super blonde" because many refer to it as a white blonde. I love my hair color and since I'm tanning, it's getting even lighter! (I didn't even know it was possible to get lighter.) I love my hair blonde and it's right above my shoulders.

Anyone who wants even blonder hair (and I'm warning all of you that you should only leave it on for 5 min. or it will really lighten it) get Frederic Fekkai (sp) blonding shampoo, it's $20 and purple and will last you. It turns yellow/brasiness into white blonde hair. It's my little secret when my stylist doesn't leave some of my hair under long enough. Sephora and Bath and body works sells it. If your hair darkens like the above, this will lighten it back up and is perfect for in between color appts.
