The Blonde Hair Thread

LaCapristo, i remember admiring Blake's hair on the big screen, it was nice in a natural way

Bernice, you can wash right away just be gentle and use moisturizing shampoos/conditioners/masque etc

my younger sister has some blonde too, she always washes her hair right away because she doesn't think salons do a good job/thorough job. plus they style her hair differently from the way she does.

well i got my hair done, and instead of doing ombre I opted to lighten it a little bit.. well.. it wasn't by choice per se! I had a different colourist, normally I do a blonde highlight with a gold lowlight but this session was much heavier on the blonde so it's quite a bit lighter but I do like it overall. Next time though, I would love to do the ombre. I found this great article where Kristin Ess, Lauren's hair colourist explains the process step by step.

teenagexvanity, i'm sure it looks great! ^_^ we're both going lighter for Fall!

my hairdresser friend was getting on my case because he cares so much about hair trends . he was trying to convince me to stay darker 'because it's Fall' or do Ombre hair . i was like ombre works with your natural color to be more low maintenance, if i had ombre with the colors i'm actually, it will be MORE high maintenance.

i already had subtle ombre looking hair in the spring just because my hair color faded...and i still felt washed out with that dark of hair. plus i'm not trying to deal with regrowth and lookin' all like Neopolitan ice cream, okay? and if my hair is any darker, it wont even be blonde anymore!

funny how snobby my friend has gotten since he started doing hair. i'm like back off dude, i been doing my hair for a while and used Kerastase before you even heard of it! but feel free hook me up with some free Kerastase samples from your salon

I liked the article because she explains really well how to do the ombre and she has a few good points.. how she warms up Lauren's natural base a tad (which is what mine would need done as well, I suspect we have the same natural colour). But there is some ombre hair I am not a fan of. Usually brunette ombre just doesn't look right to me, like Rachel Bilson and some others have.

Speaking of Scarlett Johansson, I thought her hair was SO beautiful in he's just not that into you. Makes me miss my own platinum hair.. but the upkeep! the bleaching! the sting of the peroxide! just not worth it for me anymore.

i don't like Rachel Bilson's Ombre styles either. when it was lighter brown, it was orangey. now i think it's blonde but there is too much contrast with her roots.

Great pics! I think that a natural looking dark blonde shade is the hardest for most hair dressers to pull off.. at least that has been my experience! For whatever reason, I've always had trouble getting that warm dark blonde shade that Sarah Jessica Parker often sports.. I believe some people call it "bronde"

This would be the perfect colour for me with my natural colour being very similar, but I am a sucker for bright blonde too. I should just invest in lots of wigs!

SJP s color is gorgeous I wish i could find someone who could do it exactly like that.
it s true that ombre s great for fall winter that warm color gives a cozy feel. if that makes any sense

it makes a lot of sense! i've struggled to find someone to do it.. I realize now i had that colour a few years ago but at the time i didn't like it because i got it by accident... i'll find a picture to post it later!

^ i like the term "bronde" ^_^

my hairdresser friend was talking about SJP's hair too! i like the colors with her wavy hair.

Here I am as an ombre "bronde".. a year and a half before I even knew I wanted the hair colour! If only I could go back in time...

(sorry it's small but I had to do some cropping!)

The funny thing is, when I first had this hair I HATED it. I thought it was too dark at first. But gradually the base colour began to fade into exactly what I had wanted. This picture was taken in February, and by the time it was May I had decided to lighten it again so I guess it was my own fault. To this day though, I've had friends bring up that they loved my hair when it was that shade.

^ i like that! actually more that the Lauren Conrad one, i think it would fit your style more(from what i know of it :D).

no worries you can always go back. now especially because i'm sure hairdressers are being asked to do Ombre more, they have more practice before they do your hair ^_^

Wow I really like the pics of Taylor Swift. Thanks for posting :flower:
Is your hair blonde again now kissablekae?

thanks loonaka! :D
Taylor Swift's hair looks great straight like that, it's a nice to see her do her hair like the every once in a while.

i'm Blonde again, i posted photos here ^_^

I love your hair coloring Kissablekae, I know so many ppl that think that Asians can't go blonde or shouldn't. I like being able to get a different hair color if I want, but whenever I bleach my hair I always want it black again after some days and when I have black hair I want it light

Thanks for those Carey pics kissablekae. She looks so fresh and beautiful in those. I prefer it like that, slightly longer. The ultra short doesn't suit her really well imo.
