^Girl you don't know how many Europeans I've encountered who didn't know what our natural hair color is
or people think everything dark is black hair. i base on how it looks like in sunlight. my best friend when i was a kid had the darkest hair ever, it only reflect / shined white, you could never see any brown. it has lightened on it's own as she got older, probably by the sun.
i usually go by official color charts, i love looking at hair swatches!
I agree, it's a great colour but I would classify it as brunette, but that's probably because in Scandinavia so many people (me included) has very very light blonde as a natural color and I have these blondes around me all the time.
As for me, I've been going back to my natural color for a while now, I've had it dark for so long. I had almost forgotten how tiring it is to bleach hair, stinging of the peroxide on your scalp, dry and damaged ends... it's just easier to be a bit darker.
thanks CharmingNicky. oh yeah i definitely get that! actually, the same thing happens a lot here in California too. my friends who are natural dark blondes want to lighten their hair so they would be more in the blonde category but i always tell them no! it's gorgeous, i think that borderline color is so underrated, very earthy. but my dark blonde friends have tans so i think that's why the color works so well on them, same for Natalia Vodianova. that's one of the reasons i'm planning to get medium blonde highlights next since i've had the before and liked it with my skin tone.
i think composition has to do with it too. my friends who have super white blonde(like between light and platinum) peek-a-boo highlights always complain about it not being light enough...i'm like "girl, you craycray! any lighter and your hair will break off!"
Nicky(i keep wanting to call you Darling Nikki after the Prince song ), what shade of blonde are you going back to? i don't think peroxide stings my head much but i might just be used to it... . i remember when was doing the light blonde bleach out, i had two people working on my hair because the bleach was so strong so they needed to work fast. my hairdresser asked me if my hair was stinging, i was like "nah, i'm coo" . to me it felt the same as if i was dyeing my hair.
i took a quick pix before i left the house today. this time in natural lighting, non-direct sunlight. excuse the dampness, i just ran a wide tooth comb tooth through my hair and was letting my hair air dry
i'm excited for my appt tomorrow
