thank you teenagexvanity! variety is the spice of life :winkiss:
Blake Lively has great hair.

lova, i definitely don't wanna darker my hair. do you think it would be okay to just use occassionally or not all all? my hair is still in pretty good condition considering everything i've done to it

i still love my John Frieda Sheer Blonde Lustrous Touch Shampoo & Conditioner the best, my hair always looks most pure after washing with that.

I love some of those blondes, especially Maryna Linchuk

My hair is feeling a bit dry and not so good today, could it be the purple shampoo possibly? I can never decide if I really need to use it, I just don't want my hair to look dull.

i found my purple shampoos to be really drying so it's probably that!

with my hair, i can tell if it looks darker in color when it still wet. or brighter when i use the JF shampoo. its always darker whenever i tried using those damn purple shampoos so i stopped. it made me wanna jump back in the shower and not leave the house. it just looked 'off' to me.

i can only speak for myself, i prefer colorless Blonde shampoos. it's worked for me last year when i was light / medium / dirty blonde too so i'm sticking to what i know. but i'm a faux blonde so...i dunno about the girls who are natural blondes who rarely need touch-ups, get highlights, or toners / glazes run through their hair. i feel like the colorless shampoos keep the dullness away without adding a funky tinge on top.

my hair is pretty much 'kept in check' since i'm at the salon so often.

Thank you, any blonde shampoos you recommend, or anyone else for that matter? I have considered things like Redken Blonde Glam but never tried it, I tried Tigi Dumb Blonde but didn't like it at all.

My hair is totally virgin, aside from the purple shampoo if that counts. I have toyed with the idea of highlights for a few years, but they would have to be pretty light and I have a strange pride in being able to say I am a natural blonde  not that there is anything wrong with hair dye!

aren't you using Paul Mitchell's Platinum Blonde Shampoo right now?
how do you like it so far?

it doesn't look like you need a purple shampoo anyways. plus its natural, i think colorless shampoo will do to keep the dullness away. or maybe look into some natural homemade rinses?

Girl girl, natural Blondes that bright (past childhood) are rare(r) be proud :flower:
and i have no problem saying my hair color is fake  * whips my hair back and forth & snapz fingas * yes this is paid for.

if you use the oil every now and then you'll be fine :flower:

you're lucky your hair is still in good condition, but then again you started off with nice hair

i like seeing Scarjo with more lowlights / ombre roots, i think it'll give her more variety in characters
hard to take her seriously as a normal girl when her hair was out of this world bombshell blonde

thank you, Lova! :flower: :winkiss:

scarlett looks so beautiful in those photos, i know she rocked dark hair well, but to me she is such a blonde. i love it!

Ah, I haven't heard of that, I think it may be the same as the Moisturising one sold here in the UK, thanks for the tip  I have been using the Paul Mitchell, but that one is a purple one, so I have stopped for the time being.

Thank you, I like your attitude towards your own hair tooB)

^ ^_^:flower: my hair philosophy : don't use what you don't need, a lot of people push products and what they've read but not based on experience.
and YOU know your hair best(or at least one should ).

the "Lustrous Touch" one is probably the same as the "Moisturizing" one. i didn't like the normal one as much. if you could get a hold of a travel size to try first, that's even better just in case you don't like it. i only got a travel size of the Moroccan Oil so i'm not trippin' about only using it occassionally.

Kerastase review :

so my hairdresser friend hooked it up with some samples of Kerastase Age Recharge shampoo & Vita Ciment conditioner (green line). it's not bad, just okay. i used to use Bain Satin (orange line) back when i was a Brunette. both lines are moisturizing but no more than my John Frieda (drugstore) products, that's like 1/3 of the price of Kerastase...

the K-AR shampoo scent is okay, scent reminds me of baby products and it's a bit drying for my preference. i didn't like the scent of the orange line, the green line smells better, cleaner. K-VC smells better, slightly green fruity but not in a berry way, it's decently moisturizing but hard to rinse and dries weird which is my biggest issue. since i air dry, i notice Kerastase takes foreveeerr to air dry and it doesn't dry evenly so when i run my hands through my hair to finger comb, my hair catches my fingers. normally i only brush my hair once with a wide tooth comb and that's all i need but with Kerastase...it's not tangled but it makes my hair stick together which is probably why it takes so long to dry. i think this line would be better for those who blow dry their hair.

etc :

i had a funny convo with my hairdresser(female) about how male hairdressers(my friend) always act like such know-it-all with products when they don't even use it themselves! i mean yes they use it in the salon but not day in and day out on themselves. especially when they have short hair and any damage they do to it gets trimmed off every so often. he wanted honest feedback but he just doesn't want to listen :innocent:

my hairdresser was complaining to me about the owner of the salon(male) who sometimes recommends the wrong products for his clients because sometimes he forgets to take into account different hair types. he just thinks, well this is good so it will work on everyone but sometimes he sells products that are too heavy for fine hair  and my hairdresser is just like

oh I  it kae!! I love those new buttery highlights..it makes it much more dimensional and soft :crush: ugh..you're ruining my going darker plans!
Btw, does anyone know how to achieve this color? I know it is probably 95% natural but it doesn't hurt to ask..is it highlights, an all over color? both :D? bare in mind that my base is medium-light brown. Is it achievable in any way? :D

aw thx MelBelle!
it's lighter in person/close up but i keep taking pix at night
so i have gone lighter than my initial plan but both my hairdresser and i thinks lighter is better on me.
my hairdresser and i traded colors basically, she is a brunette now!

oo i talked to my HD about the Moroccan Oil and she said there are two kinds. and not to worry about the one i bought. she is a natural blonde with highlights, she used it everyday with no darkening so it's a go ^_^

Mel, that's pretty! in the first it looks overall/solid but second looks like highlights on the bottom portion. its probably achievable but i don't know how many sessions. it depends on how much you have to change in tones, i think that's the hardest part typically.

OMG.. that hair is TO DIE FOR! I feel like Kae is right, hardest thing to do is change and maintain the tone.. but WOW. So beautiful, looks so natural... so healthy. what a beautiful head of hair. Very very gold and again a "bronde" shade. I think most of my favourite hair colours overall are the "bronde" look. It's close to my natural but I'm much ashier :(

Speaking of beautiful hair, yours looks great Kae! Anymore sessions to come or just maintaining now?

^ i love so many bronde (the darker varieties) and golden looks like Jennifer Aniston but i don't have the skin tone for it. needs a great tan to pull off for sure ^_^. teenagexvanity, do you like ash or gold on yourself more? having a mix could work depending on the season / your coloring.

i feel like my sessions will be never ending depending on what i'm feelin'
right now i'm coo with it. but I’ll see how it grows out this month and how it looks in Thxgiving photos, my roots are blonde right now. i may ask for darker roots next time if this grows out like WHOA but i def don't want that darker color to be weaved into my hair. right now the plan for next month is same blonde root touch up and weave more of it thru. the lighter pieces are bringing a lot more light for me.

i still want to lighten the bottom portion more but we are doing that gradually so i can keep my hair healthy and the length.

Girl you look amazing! Blonde really suits you.
Did you cut your hair as well? It looks shorter^_^

I am very very VERY fair but i LOVE golden colours on myself.. go figure! in an ideal world i'd have lots of really good wigs LOL

funny enough the other day, one of my best friends who always tries to convince me to go brown (she prefers it on me because she prefers brunettes overall) was like "you know what, i'm really feeling the blonde on you lately, you know i usually prefer dark but i think you should keep it" which from her is a huge compliment!

i'm still scoping out a new salon to get some subtle ombre action.. nothing too extreme but just a tad darker at the root

thank you Naked  I just got a baby trim, most of my hair is just tucked behind me. i'm soo lazy with taking pictures this time around! i was just slouching in bed and thought ughh i really need to make sure i get good photos for this month just to have for my own records. i'm curious to see what my hair looks like on other ppl's cameras / different lighting on Thxgiving

my hairdresser friend loves my hair right now. he is always looking through my hair like a monkey  he was testing my hair strength like by the strand, it's good.

teenagexvanity, i think you might be able to pull off a weave(highlights) of subtle pale gold in the Spring time ^_^. i'm scared of 'going for Golden' because sometimes those tones are too strong but maybe the more neutral 'iridescent' shades some salons have on their charts could work without being too extreme for you.

right now i do have a mix of both ash & gold just because my hair was so stubborn lifting from very dark brown. it's fine, as long as it's the ash is more dominant and i can gradually phase out more of the gold.

i have friends like that too! it's always just their preference though. i'm like "honey, i'm not yo girlfriend". or if it's girls, i'm like "okay girl, that's ...nice...why don't you dye your hair that color if you like it so much ". i'm stubborn though, can't you tell? fiercely independent :mohawk: when i'm set on changing my hair, i just make appt and gOo. my older sister favors dark hair but when i finally lighten it, she was like you look so much better now, not so goth  . i wear a lot of black and dark clothing(sometimes) so now at least the blonde breaks it up a bit and keeps me sunny :D

i think salons are calling the ombre hair, root shading. the receptionist at my salon has it, it looks nice

I was wondering how it would work to get a erin wasson/anna selezneva/old abbey lee blonde if my hair is a darker brown at the moment, and that being, with a red undertone...? :ninja: I'm really feeling the urge to get it done...
