The Business of Magazines

Whatever, instead of taking a stand against the trend of celebrities that want total control of the creative aspects of the magazine, Edward just gave them the key.

You never see an editorial/runway show stylist doing red carpet and vice versa. And I prefer it that way.

Honestly, I'm not interested in seeing red carpet stylists with their clients in editorials/campaigns. It's always boring because the magazines have to compromise their vision to fit into the celebrity's images. And frankly, if you're not going to step out of your comfort zone, what's the point of appearing in a fashion magazine.

Law Roach as British Vogue's west coast editor, sounds about as legit as Amber Valletta as sustainability editor and Pat McGrath as beauty editor. Sounds like just another ploy to make Enninful's Vogue sounds all that more desirable. A name attached to the magazine... that's all.

That being said... I did like how Law Roach styled Zendaya for British Vogue's October 2021 cover!

OMG .... your kidding me right?

ALT was an extremely knowledgeable person, he literally was a living encyclopedia,
Yes he was very smart,
Yes he worked hard before getting to Vogue,
Yes he has had a hard time growing up,
Yes he started from the bottom of the ladder to reach the top,
Yes I know about him for the last 20 years,
Yes I saw his documentary,

Now, let's. be frank: did he really do everything he honestly could to help feature and promote many many models of color?

No: instead he went on doing web talks everywhere on stage
No: he prefered being friends with designers and go to parties worldwide and NOT standing up to Anna Wintour when it really counted.
No: instead he decided to publish his tell-all book after being ousted from the magazine when he also was with her for decades.

This video I attached says it all.

Andre was a pioneer. He paved the way for many people in the fashion world. Without Andre we never heard of Edward Enninful or Virgil Abloh.

I've read a couple of his interviews and I got the sense the only person Law Roach is interested in promoting is himself.

there is a lot of these guys...promoting themselves under the umbrella of the media...and maybe that's not new but now is more banal than ever....

I wonder that myself too. This appointment is a better fit for American Vogue. Law Roach was probably hired for the Hollywood portfolio British Vogue publish every year.
Probably hoping to get more Hollywood actresses and producers for Brogue

Wish Vogue have atleast retain ALT

She knows fashion more than anyone else.
I see him doing Vogue for Black fashion

^ Hearst called back licenses so russian publisher renamed all their magazines: Cosmopolitan, HB, Men's health, Esquire, Good housekeeping, etc
