The Dark Knight

Amazing. Sheer brillance from start to end. I'm absolutely drained from watching it, which I rarely get from a film. I saw it at the IMax today, and the audience were amazing - a few came with all The Jokers make up on.
Fantastic cast, and my love for Gary Oldman has gone up ten fold after watching that. Heath was beyond superlatives; but I didn't realise how incredibly funny he'd be "...six.."

The pencil scene! OH. MY. The pencil scene! :bounce:
I love that! I am obsessed with this movie, I thought Heath was absolutely amazing! I've seen it 3 times, and am going to see it in imax on Sunday! I was surprised, as I'm not the kind of person to watch the same movie twice. But I could seriously watch this movie over and over again, noticing different things each time. The nuances of Heath's Joker are more noticeable with each viewing. I don't think I'm going to see the imax showing in full makeup, but I did buy a couple Joker shirts to wear! :p I thought everybody in this movie did a great job, especially Gary Oldman and Aaron Eckhart, but for me, it was the Joker's movie!

I agree 100% Manuva. I also saw it last night on the IMAX. The show was completely sold out...its been selling out every day here. After watching the movie I felt like I was on an action packed roller coaster ride...I was drained too, but in a good way. Its been a long time since a movie has done that to me. The constant action was fantastic! :woot: Heath was amazing....period.

Did anyone notice the emo mayor w/ the eyeliner?

^^^ I only hope that one day I can perform the same magic trick.

Oh god, the way Heath walks out of that hospital. So funny! So innocent-like, like he did
nothing wrong. Oh God, kills me. Too bad the hand sanitizer part wasn't in it.

I just saw it for the second time, this time with my Dad. He said that he thought the hype surrounding Heath and his amazing performance was due to his unfortunate death, but after seeing the movie for himself he completely understood and thought, as do the rest of us, that he was brilliant!
That made me so happy :) Because I thought Heath was undeniably fantastic!!

The best movie I've seen all year :) xx

I loved the movie. I hope that Heath wins for best supporting actor, because he was absolutely amazing. He transformed himself so much for the role.
I made the mistake of seeing the movie on an IMAX which is generally used more for wild life type documentaries. As a result, the images were too large, and at times it was impossible to figure out what was going on. The movie was just not made to be seen on a curved screen of that magnitude. I should have seen the movie on an IMAX at an actual movie theater. I'll probably see the movie again next week, because I feel as though I missed a great deal.

The film made $75.6 million this past weekend, breaking the second-week box office record for films :)

I saw the movie for the second time and I was equally impressed
I'm happy to hear of their continued success :flower:

I'm watching it for the second time now...this movie is the ****! :woot:

Even the Joker is into fashion!!! :woot:
Hemming explains, “Once I knew the Joker was going to be played by Heath Ledger, I wanted the costume to have a younger, trendier style than the previous versions. Basically, my research ranged from Vivienne Westwood to Johnny Rotten to Iggy Pop to Pete Doherty to Alexander McQueen. I was collecting all sorts of images.”
Hemming ultimately designed an ecclectic ensemble that she says “has a somewhat foppish attitude to it, with a little grunge thrown in.” Staying with the Joker’s traditional color palette, his outfit is topped by a purple coat, worn over a green waistcoat. Changing up his look, he also wears a lighter jacket that was based on the Carnaby Street Mod look. His shirt was patterned after a shirt that Hemming found at an antique market.
The Joker’s shoes are from Milan and were selected by the costume designer because they had an upward swoop at the toe, which she thought was reminiscent of clown shoes. His tie was fashioned by Turnbull & Asser, a London-based clothier better known for dressing British Royalty and the like.

This movie was absolutly amazing! I loved it! Saw it with my sister, and we had a great time. Loved the bit where The Joker dressed with in the Nurses outfit, amazing performance.

I didn´t like it at all. It bored me to death but Heath Ledger is very good in it. A lot of holes in the plot made me angry at first, I wanted the move to make a little sense at least...but nearing the end of the movie I could´n care less...I just wanted it to end.

I saw the movie finally and I told myself I was forever a Jack Nicholson as Joker girl. Still am, to be honest. But thinking again, the two aren't comparable. They were made at different times and surely, this one got it's own spin. However, yes, Heath's performance was great but it didn't blow me away. It was his overall best but not the overall best performance. To each their own! I feel like any other great actor could've done the Joker justice. I give Heath props though because he really dedicated himself to the role and the outcome was well done.

Eckhart is so completely underrated in this film. His portrayal of Two-Face Dent was A-MAZING. He should be receiving just as much praise as Joker, unfortunately he probably won't get as much recognition. But yeah, I thought he was flawless in the movie.
