The 'Handbag & Small Leather Goods ID' Thread

So this bag sold for $1,950 and the seller has it on ebay with a NO RESERVE auction. So if it gets bid up to say $150, the seller plans to let it go for that price? I find no reserve auctions "iffy" when it's an expensive designer item and the auction is started so low. Sorry, I'm not familiar enough with the bag to have a defining opinion, but I'd be leery of it without more to go on.

Thanks for your thoughts! I am def leery of the bag-I am thinking there is alot of damage to it. I did do some research and saw that the besace had a limited edition version that came with a luggage tag in may 2008 as this bag has. I am hoping that I can find someone here with more ysl serial number knowledge. Thanks again for giving it a look!

REAL? please tell me it is! the serial code is MA0506

MizBB!! You are awesome. I hope we never lose you! This thread would be lost without you!

What bothers me about this one is the lock/key set which looks older than the bag. Ask the seller to unstuff the bag and take a photo so we can gauge the thickness of the canvas. Need a photo taken straight on of the bag unstuffed, not the overhead shot which only shows the interior. According to the date code, the bag is from 1996, however, it looks newer than that. Bags can be artificially pantinaed, so can't go by that, and the fakes can look exactly like the authentic, with a few differences: the thickness of the canvas (fakes are thinner) and the hardware. See if you can get more photos of the bag unstuffed and a close up of the lock; I'd like to see the number on the lock, and post.

Thank you Miz! And I also noticed the monogram, on the Keepall 50 it's supposed to be 6 "LV's" in a row, not 7....
But what do you think of the other one?? (http://cgi.ebay.com/AUTH-LOUIS-VUITTON-KEEPALL-50-Excellent_W0QQitemZ170376733078QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLuggage?hash=item27ab3ea196&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14 ) :)

It takes a trained eye to know a real Chanel.

No. 1 - authentic.

No. 2 - this is not a good investment; this bag has been destroyed so why would you want it? I'd need to see the interior hologram sticker to know if it's authentic. My advice is to pass on this because it's not worth the $250 being asked. It looks like something "ate" the corner, like a dog. Not worth the money.

This looks fake to me. The canvas is too thin, there's not even the beginnings of a pantina and the workmanship looks like made in China.:(

Pic ebay auction

are the edges supposed to line up with the same type symbol?

I am 99% sure this is a fake. I've never seen this type of color on a LV, but then again what do I know? Can you pros tell me if LV ever even made bags this color?

Looks fake to me too, but post in the LV thread and see what they have to say.
