The MAC Makeup Thread #2

^It might be that it's just really close to the colour of your skin on your eyelids. My eyelids are really brown, and some matte shades don't show up at all. But nice colours! I want Club too! And all the others too, really :D

I've bought quite a few things recently, the feline collection had some lovely bits, but too much! I got the pet me mineralise blush, which is amazing, a beautiful peach colour that works well with a pale complexion, a really strong colour payoff. The superslick eyeliner is amazing too, the applicator makes it so simple, and its definitely water and sweatproof. The only problem is it peels off a bit if you get oily. A very strange texture actually! Absolutely loving the pro longwear lipsticks, they last. Got the pro longwear foundation too but I haven't given it a proper road test yet, I tried it last night but it went all cakey in the rain.

I think I'm going to get the Indianwood paint pot . . . I used my friend's today and it looked really nice with my brown eyes.

I just got Club as well. It's so gorgeous and the perfect colour for a super easy smokey eye. I love how the green blends out into a warm brown. I wanted a "Kristen Stewart colour" and this is it!

^^Club is indeed the perfect colour for a smokey eye.

I'm so excited for MAC A Tartan Tale Collection for Holiday 2010. I can't help it, it's so pretty! Little kits with a lipstick, lipgloss and lippencil, eyeshadow palettes, brush kits.... I want it all .

These are the products I want:

I know that this is old news, but the Viva Glam Cyndi lipstick really is as wonderful as they say! I just today received the tube that I had reserved. I highly recommend it (if you can get one..I think they're pretty much sold out).

Today I bought the Cockney lipstick and I love it, it is the perfect red !!!! And the texture is amazing....LOVE IT

I'm going to buy the Viva glam cyndi lipstick tomorrow, which colour of lip pencil would go well with this shade?

^I usually don't use a lipliner with Cyndi because it's quite sheer and not really necessary. I have tried it with Make Up Forever's coral lip pencil and Bobbi Brown's sangria lip pencil. I'd say the Bobbi Brown is a bit of a better match, but neither are perfect. I don't own any MAC lipliners so I couldn't tell you, sorry :flower:

I think I'm pretty much done with MAC. Other than their eyeshadows and lipsticks, everything that I've tried from there has been crap and has made me break out. On top of that, I get nothing but rude customer service from them. Out of all the times that I've been there, I've had maybe 2 good experiences. I don't know if it's just the SA's in my area, or what, but I'd rather spend my money elsewhere from now on. If I ever need anything, I'm gonna purchase online.

I've just purchased some new goodies from MAC. I must say that the face brush #138 is awesome, I LOVE it!

I bought almost the same brush set that FleurDeLys posted on previous page last Christmas in LA. I was very disappointed by the quality of the brushes, otherwise I love MAC brushes.

I've also experienced a really bad customer service back there in California, on the other hand the customer service in NY & Europe is totally different story (a good one ofc).

My new goodies:
MAC face brush #138
MAC brush #224
MAC brush #217
MAC paint pot in #painterly
MAC eye gel liner in #blacktrack
and a stock of MAC studio sculpt foundation & MAC mineralize skinfinish, I cannot live without.

^Oh no, I though the quality of the brushes would be the same as the permanent brushes :(.

Roisin, in all the MAC stores I've been (all belgian stores, all 5 of them  and one in Rome), all the MUA's are extremely friendly and nice. They always make me want to buy more, just because they're so helpful and understand exactly what I want. MAC is actually my favourite makeup store atm, in most of the other stores where they sell makeup, the SA's are not helpful at all and generally I get the feeling they don't know much about makeup.

A few days ago I bought a paintpot in painterly, shale eyeshadow and viva glam cyndi lipstick.
Love the lipstick, great for a night out!

do you brush the mineralize skinfinish on OVER the studio sculpt foundation?

I am wondering how good is the by candlelight highlighter compared to those from Nars....... Anyone has it who could give me some info?

lucy92 yes, I put the mineralize skinfinish on over the studio sculpt foundation, as my fav MU artist from MAC in NYC taught me how to apply MU on my face. :flower:

It would be somewhat awkward to put powder on before foundation anyway :ninja:

^i never expected anyone to put powder on before foundation. i was told that the studio sculpt foundation is very opaque and has a lot of coverage and people dont often need any finishing products over it. thats why i asked.

Oh. A lot of people use the powder as a foundation, personally I feel smothered whenever I wear it

A few days ago, I bougt a MAC 138 and a cremesheen lipstick in Shy Girl. I was really hesistant to buy the 138 because it was so expensive but it really does a great job. It blends like a dream . My blush never looked so natural! I'm using MAC blush in pinch o peach a lot atm, and when I apply it with the 138, I look like a little child that has been running in the field :D.
The lipstick is also great. Lovely peachy colour for everyday use.

I'll see if I find time to post a pic tomorrow.
