The Mascara Thread

I ordered the diorshow icepearl, and I should be getting it next week, i'll let you know how it works out...it looks to be time consuming, putting each crystal on one at a time, and the same for removal.

Are there any mascaras that are contact-lenses friendly? And that are easy to remove and won't make you end up with particles in your eyes that won't come out?

i would not use any other mascara other than Maybelline's Full n Soft - i like the natural, soft lash look. it's sooo cheap and it gives me long, full and fluffy lashes. in the middle of the day, i can't help but pet my lashes. i know, its weird but they are just SO soft. no flaking, washes off like a dream, and lasts all day. i use Shu's lash repair as a primer, so that may contribute to its staying power. i've tried many high-end mascaras and some do not compare, or somewhat measures up to this. but my mentality is: why use a high-end mascara when you can get the best for about $6?

So since I have light eyes and skin, dark thick mascara looks scary on me. Does anyone have a rec for a very lengthening brown mascara that isn't all dense and goopy? (I have fine hair too and my lashes look unnatural when *thick* with mascara per se.)

Defenitely let us know how this works.

Some mascaras are really like a tint, so they come all out whrn you wash your face in the end of the day, so there´s no need to use an eye makeup remover.;)

^thanks for th etip. Has anyone tried Helena Rubenstein's Queen something (not really the word something, rather- I can't remember) Mascara?

I recieved my Diorshow Icepearl today, I have played with it a little bit. I put it on my subtly than the picture and it looked nice. It was a pretty effect. I didn't think that it stayed on very well though, but maybe I was touching my eyes. I am going to try it all day tomorrow and see how it goes.

I'm still searching for that perfect mascara. I've tried Clinique's high impact, naturally gloosy and curling mascara, Lancome's hypnose, Maybelline's Great Lash, Avon's lengthining....

Is CG's Fantastic Lash better or L'oreal's panoramic curl or Voluminous

Something cheap but effective is good for me:p

What mascaras do you contact lens wearers and people with easily irritated eyes like? (Bourjois is not cutting it in the comfort dept. and have had trouble w/Clinique too.)

You could try mascara from the pharmacy brands ;)

1) What colour eye shadow would you wear with blue mascara?

2) Would you wear blue mascara during the day....or more of a night thing?

:flower:

I'd match it with a deep deep navy eyeliner or smudged rim or only wear it with something plain and very cool and gleamy (highlighter kind of thing).

I bought waterproof diorshow mascara last night which was a total mistake.. i had the hardest time removing it at night and still didnt manage to remove all of it cause everytime i tried i'd lose an eyelash  but the mascara overall wasnt that great.. YSL is so much better IMO

From these brands, which is the best mascara for adding length ?
Max Factor
Mabeline
Loreal
Revlon

Max Factor 2000 calories and Maybelline Full n Soft are probably the best lengthen-ers in my opinion.

I recently bought Guerlain Divornia Mascara and it is the best! I was using Diorshow for two and a hald years, but this totally beats it. It is light and non-clumpy, doesn't weigh my lashes down, and makes me have such long lashes.
Some of my other favorites are Clinique Naturally Glossy for natural definition and Chanel Lash Building (cils a cils) for medium length and thickness.

My eyelashes are really few and short so I need both volume and length. I've tried soooo many different brands my my top 3 is:

- Make Up Stores own (a Swedish brand)
- Dior Diorshow
- Dior Maximeyes

i really want to try shu's mascara basic, but i just can't bring myself to shell out $27 for a tiny tube of mascara. i've heard that shu basic and maybelline's full n soft work the same, so i guess i'll be using full n soft for a bit longer. does anyone have any comments on mascara basic?

^ Someon in another thread commented on that it's a good mascara if you're going for a natural look and it seperates the eyelashes very well, hope that helps somewhat :flower:

OK, tried the Dior Maximeyes on one eye and the lengthening on the other - the Dior lengthening is SO much better than Maximeyes!
