The Mascara Thread

Which mascara curls alot and is clump-free like this? :) Also like the model, I don't need mascara that thickens alot, just something natural and well curled (and stays in place).
Anyone know one that's good yet is not too pricey?

Helena Rubinstein Long Lash Mascara

I am using Helena Rubinstein Long Lash Mascara now.

It's waterproof, so it's really  to get off each night. :yuk: [Hints from anyone? ]

But god, I love it so much! :crush: :crush: :crush:

They make my lashes stand up, but not stick together and at the same time, look natural and not too "dressed up".

And best of all, it's been raining lately, so this waterproof formula is well worth it. :flower:

Shame it is not cheap though! :(

Thank you to my sister who bought it for me!

Have any you guys tried Shiseido's Mascara base? MakeupAlley has rave reviews on it and I just want to hear your opinions before fork over a 20. Thanks :)

L'Oreal Voluminous mascara is still my fave mascara so far..... anything BETTER than that? I am looking for a mascara with a more WOW effect, that I can use with no eyeliner or eyeshadow..... to create lashes that really stand out on their own without the need of a lash curler (I think lash curlers make lashes look quite tacky and unnatural, a bit too Barbie-like).... And I don't necessarily want a mascara that specializes in curling lashes.....

From what I heard, Chanel, Lancome and Diorshow/snow!? mascaras give the best results..... which brand of mascara is the best? Time to invest.....

I personally recommend Dior's Diorshow and Helena Rubinstein's Lash Queen. . LOVE THEM

tortoise - Have you tried a cleansing oil, e.g. DHC or Shiseido?
It works wonders in removing waterproof mascara as it dissolves it completely for me and then you rinse off with water.

I just bought a new product fom Loreal called, Gentle Waterproof Eye and Lip Makeup Remover and it works well too.

when using a mascara with a base coat [the white stuff]
do you wait until the base coat dries to put on the top coat? or do you put on the top coat while the base coat is still wet?
i put on white ones first on both eyes, by the time i am done, and ready to put on the black coat, i guess it has alr dried...

sorry for the lengthy post...but thanks guys for any suggestions! :D

I'm using Chanel Inimitable now and I love it. For me, it's better than Diorshow. My eyelashes are more separated with this mascara.

Has anyone tried Clinique's Long Pretty Lashes Mascara? Or Clinique's Naturally Glossy Mascara? Please give me your thoughts :) And would you recommend Loreal Lash Architect (does this by any chance curl as well)?

I personally love Blink's Kiss Me mascara for a natural look. It's super easy to clean off at night, and it doesn't smudge AT ALL. Also, if you accidentally get it on your nose, you can just rub it off.

I must confess... :(

I've given up on the Lancôme Fatale and gone back to Lancôme Hypnose.^_^ Fatale was just too much work for too few results. :innocent:

Just wanted to add another recommendation for Chanel Inimitable. I was given a sample when I bought some Black Satin nail polish, and bought the real thing a few days later because I was so pleased with the results. It has a different kind of brush, I'm not sure how to describe it, but it's really made a difference to how my lashes look. I'm obsessed with my lashes by the way
Does exactly what it says on the tin, my lashes are lengthened, curled, seperated, not clumpy but well defined. Combined with the Lancome white base mascara Cils Booster XL, I have my best looking lashes. ^_^

i'm really into dramatic lashes, and i like mascara that i can layer and comb to my heart's content. i've been really happy with rimmel's new(ish) lycra lash extender mascara. it's advertised as a lengthening and curling mascara - it does really well with length after only 1 coat - but i find that if you layer it, and comb through with a metal comb each time, that you can get volume too. and no flakes or smudges, which i can't stand! it's also cheap, which is a nice bonus. ^_^
