The Mascara Thread

I did really love Diorshow, but this is far far better, but my desire is for fat mega lifted lashes, so if you want dainty ones you'd probably not like iconic. Personally I love it....although I still want to try the buzzy lancome one, and the chanel one. I'm a mascara junkie!

I used to have the smudgy problem as well. As soon as I switched to waterproof mascara, the problem was solved. Maybe you could give that a try.

Or if you still wanted to stick to your regular mascara, what about those mascara 'sealers' that are supposed to go over your regular product, like a clear coat, and make it waterproof for the day?

I think Clarins do one called 'Double Fix' mascara.

I decided to try Max Factor beyond lengths mascara, black plus purple. Well the black one was awesome, gives great volume ( to my pleasant surprise) but the color purple when put on after that doesnt look colorful enough and kind of shortens the lashes length...Hmmm....

so does that iconic do more natural and less clumby than diorshow?? cos i would wanna try it, so dhould i? i like semi-natural looking eyes, usuallu i go with qlinique naturally glossy wich is the best but sometimes i would like to try something else??

i really love the givenchy's round brush. although i do wish they come in waterproof.

Could you expand on what it's like? Does it make your lashes thick and curly? How is it beneficial and/or better than other mascaras?

I bought iconic a week ago and I now preach to anyone that will listen that it is the BEST mascara I have ever ever used. I have short, useless, downy lashes and this makes my eyes look doll-like, huge and my lashes are clump and tangle free.

So, it does a good job of curling? Cos my lashes are straight and curlers don't even work that well on me. =[

The reason I love it so much is because it catches every single lash and it's so easy to use. I usually have problems with the inner part of the lash and the bottom, but not when I use this. It makes my lashes darker/fuller. It doesn't curl your lashes so I have to use my curler. But other than that, I would totally recommend it.:flower:

I tried Lancome Hypnose mascara, very glossy no thick lasches. For thick lasches i will use Diorshow.

Have you tried Shu Uemura mascara? It gives very natural results, and it's easy to build layers without clumping.

Or you could just try using your regular mascara, but applying a very, very light coat (basically just on the tips of your lashes) and then using a lash comb to take off any excess and separate any clumps. Works for me, usually. :flower:

I'm loving Givenchy's captiv' eyes mascara  At first I thought the brush looked a bit clumped, but it glides on so smoothly ^_^

Yesterday I bought Exceptionnel de Chanel and I love it. It's even better than Inimitable that I had before.

I wasn't for sure which one to choose, because the purple one was also very nice, but I ended up with Smoky Noir.

It curls like nothing other i've tried. It really is just fabulous in every single way, the only thing that could be better is that it could be a bit blacker. Other than that, it will give you the dolliest of eyes. My lashes are short, straight and thin, Iconic makes them huge, and so curly they touch the skin above my eyes. Go get!

Oh, and I bought the max factor mascara today. It's not great.

I dont remember which I tried but I tried some kind of shu uemura mascara and I didnt like it at all. I tried iconic and I absolutely love it, its like diorshow but better. I use iconic which really curls, thickens, lengthens and separates and then add a coat of givenchy to give a little extra length and get those corner lashes I cant get with a normal brush. The results are really just like false lashes without all the hassle. On the bottom I use stila major lash which gives a very smooth, natural look since dior and givenchy are too dramatic for lower lashes.

thanks mie :)

but i wanna know more about that iconic dior, cos if i want to have a bit sexier lashes, so is it hard to use or is it simple and does it make clumps?if i go bar etc.. sometimes i wanna have sexier look, though i love my naturally glossy clinique mascara.
